So so so bad

Such a failure for years and years and years. I can’t believe I’ve put up with this product. Don’t make the same mistake as I did in buying a SmartStart and using this app. Barely works. Intermittent and unreliable. Nothing to do with cell coverage or Verizon coverage of the cell network that smartstart uses. I see the antenna strength on my phone and also in the directed viper app representing the strength of the signal that the smartstart sees. Even when both are full strength the starting and door locking or unlocking are completely unreliable. It is such junk.

Keeps good track of vehicle

After going through the learning curve I’d have to say this app does a good job in keeping track of my vehicle. Mind you, it’s dependent on the accuracy of the GPS system that allows a wide birth to actual physical location. For example, I could never get the app to show my vehicles pin point location. I was forced to use my neighbors address as my vehicles home on the app. Also, the heading is skewed—never points In vehicles actual direction. I could be how the sensor/s was/were installed. Not really a big fan of the apps inability to communicate with my vehicle at times. Lastly the python system I use will drain the vehicles battery within two days if not continually trickle charged rendering the app useless.

I have this app and smart start for several years. The smart start works well but the GPS section only works half the time. I have notified Directed through email and phone calls with no improvement ! Disappointing !

Well worth the 3 years. I ended up buying the best of the best because I had my truck broken into and for being a first time alarm user I love the features the app gives you. Well worth the money!

This app is great! As long as I have a signal on my phone I can start my car from anywhere! Especially in the cold Chicago winters, is carpool and be about 10 minutes away, I’d start my car with the app and it’d be warm and ready to go. All other remote starters you need to be within view of your vehicle, not Viper! It’s AWESOME and totally worth every penny!!!!
