I’ve used most of what I can find on the App Store. I like this because of the cloud sync, how you can organize content, and the overall aesthetic.

Version 18 and Still No Multi-Sheet Search

Luckily, as a writer, I have no need for such capability. *Oh, wait! Yes, I do.* If they would just fix this, this app would be 4-5-star like it is on the Mac. Also, I’ve found that if I open the iOS version, which I don’t do too often because it’s not very useable for the reason stated above, on my Mac, I suddenly get a number of red sheets because iCloud has two versions, the current on the Mac and the older from the iOS device. I then have to tediously select *each* of the red sheets, deselect the older version, hit okay. *For each & every one.* Not exactly an elegant way to handle this. Would be nice if it can be assumed that I want to keep the latest one. For this reason, I removed the iOS version from my phone & iPad, so it will stop threatening my work.

My colleague recommended me to try this app half year ago... Now all my writings are done in this app and I can’t stress enough how much I love it. Best app!

A lot of bait and switch

Use this with eyes wide open. Paid in full for complete version. Company repeatedly changes after the fact, what you get. Previously promised features get taken away and your data gets trapped, when they decide to change without much warning what you’ve paid for. Features they offer aren’t that unique, and the customer treatment isn’t too great.

Was fine until yesterday

Had this app for almost a year and it’s been great for the most part. The update today broke it and it crashes whenever I go to publish something to my wordpress site. It was fixed within hours.

Can’t Delete from ipad

Down download the trial of this. No matter where/how you delete the app (by pressing on it + X, or in setting) this app won’t go away. It doesn’t take up much space but it concerns me that whoever made it wrote some kind of code so that it can never be removed.

Sad that you can’t write anything without paying. I really was excited to use it.

great. another subscription based program. it doesnt matter if developers work hard to bring us apps. they did that for decades without charging a continual rate. buy program and enjoy. subs just boil down to greed. milking users for as much as they can get. so i have to pay monthly for permission to use a program on my own ipad to write for myself? no thanks.

I can’t say enough nice things about Ulysses. Not only is it one of the best looking apps you’re likely to find, it’s also one of the most powerful. And this is ALL apps I’m talking about, not just text editors. Their support is phenomenal. I don’t think I’ve ever had another company contact me directly after sending in a report. Not only did they take the time to understand my issue, but they also implemented a fix in their next update. How cool is that? If you do any sort of writing, you should give Ulysses a try. It’s pleasant to use, their Markdown support is amazing, and their support team has got you covered.

App doesn’t start.

Just downloaded and it just shows a dark screen with a butterfly in the center. Waited about 5 minutes and nothing happens. Doesn’t matter how many times I kill the app and restart it. Unusable.
