Great for buying - NOT for selling – thredUP: Online Thrift Store Review

I love the concept of this company. I have found excellent deals on the site. It's great for purchasing and I have spent well over $500 with this company in less than a month. I'm giving it 3 stars for a few gripes - in one of the several orders I placed, one of the items wasn't as described. It took me forever to get ahold of customer service (good luck finding a phone number or email - all those links do is direct you to the FAQ's). After finally typing into a "live" customer service convo box (which wasn't live because they follow strict business hours and no weekends) I sent a message and waited. After a full 7 days and no response, I sent a follow-up inquiry and FINALLY someone responded. They offered me a discount or a refund and when I opted for a discount, it took them yet another 7 days (and another prompt from me) to reply (still no discount applied to my bank account yet, either). Personally, I think a 14 day turnaround on customer service is a bit excessive - especially after the amount of money I spent with their company in such a short time. A few other things that irk me: little girls tops/shirts listed and priced as dresses. The people listing should be more knowledgeable- and a few instances of cheaper brands listed as very expensive. As for selling to them - DON'T do it. I sent in a bag with well over 40 items and they paid me $14 - minus $9.99 to return the 5 items to me that they decided not to keep. So, I made a whopping $4.90 and they will make well over $300 for the items they "bought" from me. Buy, buy, buy - but don't send in your stuff until they step up their "buying" process to be a bit more fair.
