I have an iPhone 12. I just paid for the app and now it’s gone. I back out and re enter my Id and password and there is no way to get to the keyboard ergo I cannot log in. You crooks!!! Took my money, got me on a auto renew and now I can’t even read the news. Do you guys even test your apps out?? Looks like you chose the cheapest developers. Shame on you!!!!!!!

It’s surprising NYT has such a poor app. It’s not user friendly, the saved article and search function barely works and nearly every update makes it harder to navigate. Why can’t I update the order or sections or remove saved items without have it jump to the top? I can’t even swipe between articles. Seriously, how can such a grand newspaper with so much funding have such a terrible app?

Decided to try it out and subscribe. What a rip off. Breaking news stories are hardly worth your time, crosswords are extra. Super expensive and you have to CALL to unsubscribe. Seems really sketchy.

I also read the Washington Post and WSJ. Those apps work like a charm. This one very often gives me the pinwheel of death while I sit waiting for it to download things. Often I finally give up and just close it. What gives?

Still waiting for white text on black background. Every other major news sources’ apps supports this feature. How hard can it be?

Why even have an app when it’s just a web wrapper that’s slower and buggier than viewing the exact danger thing on a mobile browser? The worst part is that certain sections (especially the Covid-19 section) reload constantly, making them unusable. Get your act together!

Once again I am writing to complain about this app. It is impossible to read the newspaper once again because the individual sections back button does not function. In order to continue reading, one has to close the app, reopen it, start all over, EACH TIME YOU VIEW ARTICLES IN A SECTION. PLEASE FIX THIS. This subscription is waaay too expensive to have to deal with this consistently problematic app. Get you act together please!

I used to be a big fam of this app. But they’ve recently introduced some whacky interface changes - (e.g., you have to scroll to the bottom to find the back arrow, and other odd decisions) - and they STILL offer no dark mode. It just is absurd. I’m a software developer and the ease of doing this is undeniable. I read the news usually late at night in bed, but have had to give up The New York Times because the bright glaring site at night is BLINDING. So I’ve switched to The Washington Post which is great for night reading. The NYT thinks somehow that they don’t have to give users what is needed and wanted. I’m probably not the only person who has given it up because if this problem. Arrogance has consequences.

NYT uses dirty and manipulative tactics to keep users subscribed. I went to unsubscribe from basic subscription, and to my surprise there wasn’t an obvious button to do so. I googled it and found out you have to talk to a person to unsubscribe. That’s absolutely ridiculous. And then I find out I’m paying 4 times as much as I thought because my offer ended. Never again will I subscribe to these guys

I can’t figure out a reason why your app doesn’t have dark mode support
