Dark Mode/Night Mode, please!!

Dark Mode/Night Mode integration is long past due. I can’t use this App at night so I switch over to Safari for “Reader” mode, which also has the added benefit of removing ads ;) Think about it.

Cancelling my subscription. So many glitches. Do better NYT.

I’ve never written a review for an app, but I recently subscribed to the NYT and I’m SO disappointed in this app. You’d think a publication as big as the New York Times would have an app that actually works and is user friendly, but it is literally the worst app I’ve ever used. Filled with constant bugs, glitches, annoying ads and timeout issues. I’ve given it a few months, hoping that the app updates would make this subscription worth it but it’s only gotten worse. I’m cancelling my subscription.

Content is mostly good but app navigation is poor

The last time I used the NYT app it felt like I could find everything and had a positive user experience. Now it’s one giant Browse section, dominated by a daily covid-19 tracker. It feels like a website not an app, plus I have to go digging to find sections of interest. I can’t go back to using Apple News anymore since the NYT took away that experience. As for content, I am generally happy with the articles, but after the NYT confessed how they were blind-sighted by the closeness of the 2020 election I would have expected to see more significant editorial change. I also can’t find World news stories that are available on other agencies, so there is a hole in coverage there.

An update in 2022 must include dark mode support.Readers who have issues with eyesight or wh even wear glasses enjoy using dark mode.Dark mode allows for less strain on the eyes, and allows for an enjoyable experience. Please include dark mode as soon as possible.

Freezes on me

This app never fails to just freeze up on me when I open it. I’m seriously considering dropping the NYT app and going just with the WP.

Weird uninstall

App functionality is fine but the uninstall appears to not be working properly. Requires an uninstall from settings and phone restart to go away.

Terrible, nonexistent service, stupid glitches

I have All-Access but cannot get full access on my iPad even when I sign in. Will not renew. I need my $200 more than I need the aggravation this poorly managed and executed service offers.

As a long term paying subscriber it is concerning to me that so many have asked for dark mode for so long and they still have not offered it!

1. Night mode 2. Preload the negative space where the advertisements go so that the page doesn’t constantly jump up and down as ads load 3. It’s almost impossible to find articles by specific journalists and in the opinion section this is mildly infuriating. 4. Swiping from the right edge should bring you back to the last page you were just reading
