Outdated reference data

So, up until today I have LOVED this app and recommended it to everyone. The only thing I wished it had was tracking of my A1C. I input my cholesterol numbers in every time I receive my results. I thought I was doing great because I was going by the charts showing my LDL to be optimal, even better than normal. Today my doctor tells me that my LDL is a little too high. When I input it into the app I’m confused because it still says that number is optimal. So, I ask my husband because he is an NP. Then I look at the latest recommendations. Tactio Health is WAY off. My numbers aren’t optional or even normal. They are borderline. When I start looking at the details under their chart, it shows the reference material was published in 2002. If they will update the reference values and charts, they will easily be a 4 star app again. If they add tracking of my A1C, it will make them a 5 star app easily. As for people saying they received spam after signing up, I have never received any spam to the email address used with Tactio Health.

Good app that could be better.

It is a great and useful app for monitoring your health. My on buggiest issue is that it does not sync nutrition no mater what I do. I have synced it to the health app as well as MyFitnessPal and nothing syncs. Also a little work needs to be done with the exercise log as I work out twice a day and it gets it wrong.

Updated: Expect Health Related Spam Emails

Update: The developer responded to my review and basically said they do not sell your info including your email. My spammy emails have stopped since they began reaching out to me. Coincidence or not, I changed my rating to a 4 because the app is pretty good outside of the issues I experienced which may or may not be linked to this company. Don’t use unless you are okay with them selling your information. The app is free and they appear to make money by selling your email address along with whatever content you upload. Ever since I registered an account with Tactio using my business only email account has been receiving health related spam that quite frankly look like phishing attempts.

Not helpful

I was hoping to get good research driven feedback, but instead, I get conflicting notices. It looks at my weight and tells me that I am overweight and need to seek medical help to lose weight. Then it looks at my body fat percentage and it tells me that I am dangerously underweight and need to seek medical help to safely gain weight. Then it reminds me to drink a glass of water. Meh.

Works well for me

I’ve used this app since 2013. And, it played an integral part in helping me get control over my health and effectively saving me from my bad health habits. Additionally, the tech support team is solid - helping me to recoup 5 years of info when I changed mobile carriers.

Disappointment

KGizmo4

The main reason I got this app was for my Fitbit to sync with it. Unfortunately, the info it shows from the sync is not accurate. My steps are way off and so is my calorie intake. This app doesn’t sync with a lot of apps; the selection is minimal. I’m also being bombarded with notifications like based on my resting heart rate, my heart rate is a little high. Kind of frightening to someone that had a heart attack a month ago. Now I’m obsessing over my HR when my BP is normal. It has potential, just doesn’t work as expected.

Health Stats you can use

I’ve used this app for as long as it has been out. I love the fact that I can put my lab information into it and really track my successes or failures. I also love that fact that if there is something wrong with the app that their support staff will work to resolve it even if it’s not a common problem. I had an issue with it crashing constantly and they examined my specific data and found the problem and fixed it. The app is also useful to communicate with your doctor

It’s ok.

The app itself is fine for what I use it for. The “health coach” notifications could use a little less. I don’t need to know 20 times a day what my resting heart rate is and every hour what my body fat is. It would be nice if it would only send the notifications of something changed instead of 20-30 times a day for the same thing with no changes in what the data it’s saying.
