Any service that REQUIRES the users upload their entire address books is not really that privacy focused if you think about it. That being said, Signal is good and simple to use. Recent updates are mixed, especially the registration PIN, which is a good idea and I would use it if the app didn’t require me to enter it in every day. How about an option to require it only if registering a new device? Bug that won’t go away: when trying to use the Share function from other apps to Signal it simply crashes 100% of the time. If they did away with the requirement of access to Contacts this would be a 4-5 star app.

This is by far the best private messaging app I’ve come across. It’s end to end encrypted and the developers don’t collect any more data than necessary. I honestly can’t think of a complaint. I’m sure if I scoured the app and tested everything thoroughly I might have a gripe or two, but for my day to day usage it’s perfect. The only method I trust when I need a secure form or communication with someone.

I really wish there was a way I could link my tablet to my signal account, like I have been able to with my laptop...

Amazing messaging app for privacy. Also really user friendly. Wish it had a reply function and I wish you could scrub through voice messages. If it had this it would be perfect

Please add all the features that the Android app has... At least let us change themes to dark.

I had one instance of a “man in the middle” occur when I first started using it as I didn’t understand about scanning the other person’s phone to Sync (and encrypt) them. Since doing so, I’ve had no problems.

I normally ❤️ this app. But now it won’t connect to the internet. Right in the middle of a conversation it’s stopped sending messages. I was receiving them but couldn’t send them. So I uninstalled and reinstalled. And now it says it won’t connect to the internet at all; not on WiFi or cellular internet. Everything else on my phone that needs internet is working except this. I downloaded the app over the internet but the app, once opened, says I’m not connected to the internet. Very frustrating. If it starts working again I’ll edit the stars since it’s usually great. But it’s not great when it’s not working at all.
