Successive releases have seemingly introduced more bugs and instability to the point that is unusable for me. I’ve removed and reinstalled several times, and I’m running the latest iOS 11 build on an iPhone 7. Still, calls drop constantly, the app crashes, and generally exhibits terrible UX. Signal is important. I hope they get back on track. I’d happily pay a subscription if it meant sustaining a quality product.

Overall the app is okay. But on the iPhone interface, in group chat, you can barely differentiate between who’s talking. Bubbles are all the same color. No avatar or icon next to the name. I’d rate it higher if these things could be added. It appears on the Android version (friends phone) that those options are there. On my iPhone it’s all the same grey color in group messages without a way to change it.

On iOS 11.3 after the most recent update, I can no longer use other apps while a call is in progress; when I use the Home button or app switcher, Signal instantly drops the call. The desired behavior (and the behavior prior to the most recent release) is to allow the call to continue while other apps are foregrounded.

Just updated your (usually awesome) app and now it keeps crashing. I cleared my conversations and that did nothing. Please fix this fast because I can barely use it, and my job relies on me using it right now.

Pros: - not owned by Facebook - ability to keep or delete messages - encryption that is open source Cons: - organize a way to view all attachments in a thread easily - please allow me to remove threads on desktop app that are only there based on my contacts

Latest update broke video calls. They don’t work at all now. Use Mega.nz for now instead of signal for secure video calls. Old review: Fantastic app. Just wish you could easily see all photos sent to a contact like iMessage does. Pardon Snowden.

Update (4/17/2018) - The Mac desktop app is now standalone and working well. Overall I'm pleased and every platform gets 5 stars! ****************** Can't say enough good about this app. Love it. iPhone = 5 stars. I'd give the Mac desktop 3.5 stars though, because it's just a Chrome extension that is a little buggy, requiring a restart it two nearly every day. Telegram had a terrific desktop app, but I prefer the Signal system far more, particularly how you can sync your keys so that an encrypted chat with someone can be read from either device. I also prefer that Signal is always encrypted, no other option. I can't think of why I'd want another option. So, overall, Signal is THE choice. I just wish they'd develop a better Mac Desktop solution.

Phone calls have been a little glitchy lately though. Having a really hard time connecting regardless of WiFi vs cell or even signal strength. Hope the desktop version includes calling abilities soon.

Has the best privacy features and an iOS design theme. I like it. Just please work on fixing some of the bugs it can be annoying at times lol. Update: Thank you! This fixed the uncentered logo and by being able to answer calls with screen sec on. Essential bug fix.
