New App disappoints

New App is very hard to use. Old APP was so much easier. Current APP invites user to clip coupon. I found out the hard way, that this first step doesn’t assure that you get the reduced price at checkout. When I asked an employee, he said “ oh there’s another step involved. You need to go to My LIST and tick off all the items again. Why??? Perhaps so that when people don’t do that and don’t examine their receipt, the store wins.
Gas Points

With your recent updates your gas points makes no sense!! It says I have 5 points. I go to her gas and the pump says I have no points. My grocery receipt for gas points does match the app. I have just made my last grocery purchase until you get you business squared away. You are close to my house and I prefer Safeway. I will have to go to Kings in Evergreen which is 20-30 minutes further. At least their gas point system is very east to understand and works!!
Horrible App

This updated app is horrible. To use coupons from Drive Up and Go, you have to clip coupons and now (new and improved) go to a second screen to add the coupons to your cart. I was just overcharged $20 on my grocery order due to this new development. There are also coupons that don’t apply to Drive-Up orders, but it’s a caveat that’s not listed on the paper coupon or on the digital coupon. Thank goodness that the Drive-Up people at my local Safeway are amazing people!!
Great rewards. Use the App. It’s simple to use and saves lots of $$$$$$

Use tDon’t forget to check the app. You might have a lot of rewards you redeem for free food, $$ off your order and good discounts. I use the list to keep track of my coupons etc. it’s all on the app. No more paper lists that get lost. Yay.

The lack of contrast makes it more difficult to see coupons and deals that weren’t clipped. I’m highly disappointed that yo find any deals in a specific category I have to go to the shopping area and then it a click fest. How many sub categories can there be for water? Not at all impressed with the changes from just a couple of years ago. If your intent was to make this more frustrating and discourage the use of coupons, you’ve accomplished your goal.
Please bring back old version

I agree with all the reviews, the old app was much better for the reasons the explain but also this new app I can only view in long ways, vertically, I have health issues with my hands so I can hold my iPad for very long. Please improve it or bring back the old one.

I love the safeway app!! It has all my information, like what I usually buy, it makes it so easy to repurchase everything I love!! The delivery is great and whoever shops for us does a great job! Very impressed!! Will always use and recommend!!
