Not happy!

Chared229

Have 4 already, wanna buy 4 more. However the ones I have now, the live view is shoddy at best. And it’s not my WiFi!!!

Good for a couple of months

Rose and gold nails

The doorbell was great the first couple of months. Then I started noticing that it would take minutes after a video is captured before I could view it. So if you happen to miss the ring but try to view the recording literally a second later, it does not load until whoever was at your door has been long gone. However that issue has been mildly annoying compared to the most recent issues. At least once per day, I will get a recording that is all black with no sound or image. Today I received a motion notification, but did not find a recorded video of the event on the list. I have had to resort to accessing live view to deduce where the motion detection came from (like if a certain family member's car is in the driveway). My WiFi connection is fine, everything is fine according to the device health information.

So slow

The ring video doorbell is horrible, so slow to respond. The person is walking away or even gone by the time it notifies you. Great concept horrible devise.

Nothing but a white screen...

I was 100% happy with both the Ring doorbell and floodlight cam I purchased several months ago, but for some strange reason these last 2 weeks or so I’ll be away from home, get an alert for floodlight and when I go to view nothing loads just WHITE screen. Regardless of closing app, logging out, etc. etc. NOTHING!! Just WHITE screen. It only works when I’m home, but that defeats the purpose. Few minutes ago, I missed an alert for my doorbell and when I went into app to see who or what was at the door the event doesn’t show. Why? Before after a couple of minutes it would show in event history and now I’m lucky if it shows at all. Remind you nothing has changed since these cameras were setup other than the fact that I can’t do Live View away from home or view event history. I did pay for the annual subscription fee and I’m using iOS 11.4.1

No Homekit Support

Quornee

Decent app. Still no homekit support after promising it over two years ago. Not even an AppleTV app to show the cameras. Don't get into this ecosystem expecting any sort of true integration.

My cameras work when they want to

Tipdog84

Wind and rain will trigger cameras even when u have it set to people only, you can have your ring cameras right next to WiFi router and still get horrible voice quality when speaking to someone lights pop on all thru the night when there’s nothing in front of the ring camera

Like the concept; especially hate the delay

Like most of the complaints, I too, experience the delay in receiving the video. By the time the video is activated, the person is walking away, so I don’t get to see the face of the person. Also, the first 2-3 seconds of the video is SO washed out or bright that you cannot make out the figure. Yes I’ve tried repositioning the doorbell, moving it and even putting a shade over the top, but to no avail. I gave up checking the doorbell, unless there was someone at the door who was very patient or persistent. When you share the app with someone, for example a family member who also checks the motion detection or doorbell at the instant your phone alerts you, I’ve noticed that only one of you will have access. The other, won’t be able to have immediate access to the video. I gave up checking, knowing the other person would check before me. I’ve played around with the zones for the motion detection SO often that I’ve concluded there is no happy medium. Although I’ve set the zone as far in as it can go, it still senses when large vehicles, like a van or truck is passing by on the street. I gave up with adjusting the motion detection and just let it detect whatever - even the Invisible Man!!! Conclusion: I won’t be extending my existing Ring doorbell with any other Ring products, I’m sad to say. Like I said, I like the concept and there’s other similar products on the market that I’ll be trying out. I gave up on Ring.

Excessive alerts

This product could be so much better if it had the option to disable ring devices when you didn’t want them on. There is currently no way to do this. Even if you set a schedule to not alert you, the device still records movement and fills up events which makes it hard to find a true event (you just don’t receive the notification), but the recording is still active. It would be great if they came up with a feature like home security systems where you can set them to “HOME” or “AWAY”. This way if you set it to HOME, no alerts and no recordings happen. Otherwise every single thing is recorded. We have tried getting around this by turning the devices off when we have family events, but you can’t turn off some of the devices (like doorbells). This is very annoying!!!! Please come up with a way to turn all systems off when you need or want to. Other than that, I am happy with the devices. We have 2 doorbells, and 3 floodlight cams.
