You’ll never know what you get with each update.

Each time there’s an update I cringe. The last one the mechanical doorbell no longer works and customer service is actually terrible. Either no response or a typical cut n paste reply. They always like to blame your WiFi speeds and router.

Trash, get a Nest doorbell

Ed Wild

I’ve had 2 Ring door bells and the software is GARBAGE. They should be embarrassed of the quality of their engineering. When someone rings the doorbell I immediately pull up my Nest cam because trying to see the video feed from the Ring doorbell never works. It’s ridiculous. Fire your engineering team ASAP. Need more feedback? Video examples? I’ll send them over.

Amazing Product, Amazing App, Awesome Customer Experience

I had issues with a new Ring Camera installed by my alarm monitoring company ADT. The Ring Customer Service agent was amazing! She had me run a few tests and decided to send me a brand new replacement camera. The Ring App makes it easy to install and configure the camera and other Ring devices. I feel much safer with Ring. I’m a very happy customer

So far so good for us

Powellcrazy

Liking these camera much better than our vivint Have more control/functionality. Ring app is smoother and more reliable vs Vivint at our house. If Ring does get Apple home kit going when Vivint contract expires, it will be an easy choice on whom to stay with

Worthless

This app never works..can rarely receive a live image of my property when I’m not there and the notice that there is motion in front of one of my cameras is so delayed it’s worthless...it never works properly it’s so frustrating....I’m over it

Needs Work

overprocessed

Live view will often not work if the camera is recording video at the same time. So when you need to see what’s going on during a triggered event you’re out of luck. You have to wait about thirty seconds after the event to record then review the prerecorded video to see what triggered it. Kind of defeats the purpose if someone is up to no good and they’re gone by the time you’re able to see anything. The new update does not record video if you view an event live so you have no record if something happens.

Waste of money

MrFoxGinger

Seems this device won’t work at all because my router signal isn’t “strong enough” even after setting a whole router dedicated to this device. Complete fail!

Good...WHEN it works!

MirNicBai

Sometimes it works fine, a lot of the time it doesn’t. It will frequently tell me the WiFi is disabled, even though we are using the WiFi on other things in our home just fine. Often the screen lags so you see “the blur” at your door. Most recently, my microphone is has been automatically disabled somehow so my recordings no longer have sounds. I can re-enable my microphone on live view but it just turns itself back off again when you close the screen. Super frustrated with this device! Will likely be switching it out soon!

Only complaint

Jlcox31

My only complaint is my Ring Spotlight Cam Mount still doesn’t support turning auxiliary lighting on or off. I keep being told it is coming in a future firmware update. It has been almost 7 months. Still no update.

Ring ring...who’s there? Not sure this never works.

So after nearly a year of having this system I decided to give a review as I believe that’s a fair amount of time of both sides to work out any issues. Overall I believe the system is ok at best. What I like about it is there’s a recording if anything were to happen. The video quality is fair (nowhere near what is shown on their ads). The sound quality is also fair. The app is nice looking but not as functional as I believe it could be. What I don’t like: a GoPro has better footage and sound. This fisheye lens is sacrificing quality for a greater view angle. The sound will pick up all noise so listening to the subject matter can be changing. And the app...the ol’ money maker for any tech company...it’s so far below what the current market place standard is/should be. When there’s movement the app ‘rings’ which is great but to go to a live view is near worthless. We have dedicated 1 GB internet with a mesh system so the issue isn’t on our side. When it comes to video playback...good luck. I travel for work quite a bit and at this point I’ve fully come to accept that if I get robbed the ring system will only be used as evidence vice a criminal deterrent. The built in alarm is laughable. It’s like a mosquito buzzing around near your ear. Sure it’s annoying but it’s not going to stop anyone. Two things I love: the lights on the Flood-Cam. Solid and very bright. And the motion sensors. Very active and pick up issues right away. Recommendations for the company...I think a text message system would be better with someone giving me a play-by-play of what’s going on instead of me waiting for these little videos to work. Y’all could have a person just send me a few messages an hour after the ring notification goes off and states: sorry we could help but you might want to go couch shopping and looks like you are going to need a new mower too. Sorry. Hope this helps.
