Worst customer service EVER

It’s almost amazing how a business that relies so heavily on customer service could have such terrible service and not go bankrupt. For this I’d have to applaud their leadership team, Harvard is Harvard, after all. The clothes are just OK, most of them are pretty old and worn out, some of them obviously stretched out, some stained. I tried unlimited for a month and decided it wasn’t worth the money. Then I encountered their terrible customer service. First I tried online chatting, the agent chatting with me was very unenthusiastic and cold, almost impolite, and ended up giving me incorrect information. Then i tried emailing them about a shipping issue, no one replied FOR 5 DAYS. Not even an automatic reply. I tried emailing again, no reply either. So I ended up calling them to ask a very simple question, and waited on the phone for 20 minutes before talking to a human being. I guess Unlimited would only be worth it if you live in a city where they have a physical store. The shipping turnaround is too slow and you would need to deal with this sh*t they call customer service.


Items never came, can’t get a hold of customer service.

My dresses were never delivered, even though I keep getting notices to send back my items. I’ve tried call g a few times but was on hold so long I just gave up. I sent 2 emails with no response. Bummer of an experience all the way around.

The site is VERY user friendly and very organized.. recommend the app is wonderful as well!! Organized site with plenty of descriptions and pictures!


Customer service isn’t what they make it out to be

Wow. I’ve been waiting for my first opportunity to rent from RTR for a couple years already. Maybe that’s why they don’t care about my business - not a frequent enough user of their app. Anyway, I finally rented for a black tie event that I’m attending g tonight. I went out of my way to order early enough to ensure the style that I wanted would be available in my size, and it was. And I ordered the same style as my back-up, in a different size. When the order arrived, I was super disappointed to find that my original dress was not included - only the backup size and then another style all together. The backup size fit well enough, but there was a tear in the lace. When I finally got through to customer service (the 10-minute hold time was not like 20 minutes, at least), the “stylist” tried to tell me that the hole was hardly visible. Except that it was the first thing my husband saw when I tried it on! Anyway, then she proceeded to try to find me a replacement for that backup, but of course all the styles that I wanted (ie the good ones!) were already rented out for the weekend. Sure, they can overnight you a replacement, but it’s going to be one of the styles that no one else wanted. After some tense time as I tried to navigate the app to see the styles that she was suggesting, as well as to try to find something myself (btw- you can’t switch between filtering results and a regular search without losing all of your filters), we found a style for me. It was supposed to arrive between 8AM and 1 PM on the day of my event. Well, the day is here and it’s 3 PM and nothing - no delivery, and no contact from RTR. If they actually refund me my money, I might give them two stars instead of one. I have recommended this app to others before I ever even used it - my mistake! Instead, I’ll be sure to let people know not to use it

The website so slow and cumbersome. Aside from that, I’ve been pleased with all my rentals and the ease with which to rent and return!

I LOVE RTR!! I’d never had a Tory Burch bag and was dying for one but I couldn’t justify the price. Since I joined rtr unlimited I’ve used 3 diff bags in my first month before finding the one I love. I rented My daughter’s prom dress, jewelry, and 2 bags to start my 2nd month but I can send any and everything back and choose other beautiful dresses, jumpsuits, etc. I love the pics people post, it’s a great way to see what things will look like before renting. 5 stars all the way I love Rent the Runway!!

Notification bubble pops up constantly. I open the app...and nothing. No notification. No announcement. Nothing. PIA. Love this service tho. Totally changed the way I managed my closet for the better.

App never lets you log in, shop or look at anything. Website states shopping is better on the app....Absolute garbage.
