It didn’t work that great

pisces_chelle

It mostly doesn’t work when I block my kids

It works!

I originally tried Family Mode from T-Mobile but that didn’t do what I hoped it would. This app actually works! Only problem I’m encountering is I can’t change modes on my kid’s phone unless we restart it. It just stays “pending.”

The best available!

My wife and I have 5 grandkids and all their devices are on our cellular plan. We need control of each individual device so we can set them up according to their age and set schedules accordingly. I’ve purchased every Parental Control App available and none of them had the features I was looking for. The one feature I wanted was the ability to set schedules. I’m not talking about having it turn on in the morning and go off at night, rather set multiple schedules for school days, weekends, etc. This is the only App I found that allows you to set schedules any way you see fit. Here’s a schedule I use for the oldest child that’s in Middle School. Every weekday morning at 6:30, the Apps unlock that aren’t set to be available at all times. When her first class starts at 8:05am, it locks down and only basic Apps she needs for school, like calculator, etc., are available. At 11:45am, (lunch) it unlocks until lunch is over at 12:15pm and remains locked until school ends at 2:30pm. It remains on until 9:30pm, at which time it locks until 6:30am. Sometimes a class will do something that requires the students to use Google Classroom or something online. When this happens, she calls me from the school phone and tells me how long she needs access and I can bypass the schedule for a set amount of time and within 3 seconds, her device unlocks and locks back down when the time I selected expires. Another feature that Ourpact didn’t have in its infancy stage was the option to disable the ability to uninstall Apps. This is very important because my grandchild deleted the App and the software became worthless. That doesn’t happen now. You can open the App and select the child and all the controls and options are in front of you. With a click, you can track their location. This App doesn’t allow you to monitor every text message and phone call but in my case, it’s not needed. I’m not interested in spying on the kids, just maintaining control of their screen time and what Apps they can and cannot use. If you want a very powerful Parental Control App with many important features, take the time to at least try Ourpact and see if it does what you need it to. Keep in mind this App has Premium Features that are a must and it takes several steps and some time to set each device up properly but once completed, you will have all features available. I don’t write reviews for any App but in this case, I feel it’s important for parents, grandparents, guardians, etc., to know this is a great App and an absolute must-have if you want to teach a child that having their device in front of their face every waking minute of every day, is not a good thing.

Don’t waste your time!

Looks like a great app until you try to install and use it. No matter how many times I follow the instructions, or how many devices I try, none will connect.

Stops working.

Installed fine. Works when I do it manually, the timer seems to work, then he plays and plays... never times out. I want my $60 back.

Location didn’t work - difficult to uninstall

The control over apps worked but I had trouble with setting automatic time windows. I ultimately canceled the premium version because even after working with customer service we couldn’t get the location to work. The app is next to impossible to uninstall if you don’t want to use it anymore.

Love it for one reason...

WyStephanie

I don't have children but love this app for myself for one reason: being able to turn off receiving/sending text messages for a predetermined amount of time. It takes some setting up, but it's just enough of a hassle to override it that it works better than iPhone screen time. Sometimes texting turns into a strange game of too much or not enough communication in certain situations and I prefer to put some time between myself and messages. I would love a stripped down version of this app that was just for blocking texts on one's own phone as I don't know of any other apps dedicated to that purpose.

Terrible customer service!!!

Jiujitsumart

I programmed the time of my children's devices so that they have no access to the Internet after 730 pm, but this does not happen. I sent an email over 3 months ago and never got any response from this company how they could help me with this. Tomorrow I will unsubscribe.

Missing 1 thing and pricey

This app is almost everything I was looking for and functions well. However, it needs a function to monitor texting and iMessages. My child knows that I reserve the right to monitor texting, but as is, kids can simply delete text messages they want to hide from their parents. Also, the monthly fee for the premium options (which are necessary in my opinion) is steep ($6.99/month).

TERRIBLE

coming from a kids point of view. i’ve had this app controlling my phone for 6 YEARS. I’m a junior in high school who can’t even talk to her friends at night. I get that we need to lessen our screen time, but it won’t make a difference if we can still text because it doesn’t take the message app away. As much as I don’t want to say, technology is our future. People need to get over the fact that we are gonna have our nose in ANY SCREENS ALL DAY. This app is too controlling and parents take advantage of it. Parents. Grow up. Your kids don’t need to be controlled by this app. There’s more important things you need to worry about such as where you’re kids are, who they are with, if they are depressed or if they could be making bad decisions. ALSO, every time I get my apps taken, it resets the app and asks if i would like to receive notifications FOR EVERY APP. I have important apps for school, for my job, etc. People are sending me things that I’m not aware of because of this app. To conclude, this app is trash and no kid deserves to have this.
