Face ID issues

Demiwashere

Logging in is often tedious, no ability to change username. Face ID often fails to sign in, or defaults to requiring a password after being out of the app for a few minutes. Should allow a user to set their own security preferences (don’t require sign in every time the app is opened) or at least use a pin to speed it up. Push notifications also only work about half the time. There should also be the ability to have visitation on the calendar as opposed to all or nothing.

Won’t save login/use Face ID

Very convoluted. Face ID functions not working for login.

Bugs

bcm031

Not that bad of an app but I can rarely login with Face ID, which it claims to be compatible with. Also, there’s no custody schedule available for Texas expanded standard custody. Seems strange because Texas is a huge state with presumably a lot of users.

There is zero options to change core information like my phone number and my address

App Login is a pain

Joseph Hanson

Facial recognition on login doesn’t consistently work. I have to manually enter my password a lot because the facial recognition process has a bug in it. My face is recognized, and then it looks like it is going to process and login, but then it just stops and I have to enter my username and password manually. Even being in the username or password field doesn’t let my device automatically suggest my saved username or password, so it’s just a pain. I have to do this not every time, but almost on a daily basis.

PUSH NOTIFICATION ISSUE

Great App! However, the push notifications feature has not been working as of late. This may cause some issues. Please fix this.

If I could give this 0 stars I would

Hands down the most useless app out there for communicating with my ex. Makes co parenting difficult. Not user friendly. Want to minimize the harsh or abusive language from your ex, it costs extra, but only works if they pay the extra. Want to pay and track your expenses, it costs extra, not a flat rate, per transaction, and fee varies by amount, not a flat rate. Doesn’t alert you if you have a message. Can’t view all aspects of the app, you need a desktop for that. Not user friendly, want to locate something- good luck- very disorganized. Paying rent or a mortgage during a pandemic is easier than this app.

“Standard” per the courts

OFW has the benefit of not needing to improve their platform. You can’t search messages from the app. Messages allow previews, defeating the purpose of the read receipt. Schedules can’t have two transitions in a day, something the courts shouldn’t allow, but the do. These guys have a monopoly and a steady income at $100-$120 a year per parent, but the actual product is maybe 10 years out of date. That being said, i like that it gets my co-parent out of my inbox. I like the text message notification of activity in the app. I like the password lockout so kiddos using my phone won’t find their way in. But really, these guys need to up their game. Also the tone editor is the equivalent of a spell checker. It only highlights words they recommend against, not tone. Also, my last review the developer responded that message previews aren’t a part of the app. That’s inaccurate. The first line of every message has a preview in the app. And after that review i suddenly have to log in (despite saved credentials) multiple times a day. Their suggested password when i signed up had my last name and then “BBQ” & some numbers. Coincidence? I really hope so. Still disconcerting. Anyone else have that experience? Searching on the desktop also yields odd results. Results return out of order, showing messages from 3 years ago first unless you sort. Search terms for multiple words also seem to have challenges. I really want them to improve this app. My coparent refuses to try different apps. I believe this is because this one lets them fragment information and create more drama. They use the challenging interface as an excuse not to reply, not to upload medical information, not to log schedule changes or agreements, down time as a reason to text or call (once or so monthly this seems to be true for me too). It’s frustrating. We’ve been using OFW for 3 years and there was one major update two years ago which only minimally changed some things (none of these things except ADDING the message previews). ***response to developer*** I’m glad you guys had an update. You still can’t search at all from the ios App.Many people don’t have computers anymore, so this is a glaring hole in this app’s functions. I have noticed the change in being able to reply to any message. This also prevents threading, and allows my coparent to only reply to herself, making a nightmare when trying to print a conversation. I stead of only being able to reply to the most recent message. A New issue I’ve had is not being able to print messages in the order they were written, probably related to the aforementioned. I haven’t seen the change in “preview” behavior yet, but will look for it. The logout issue I’ve been having prevents using faceID or my pin multiple times a day requiring full username and password re-entry multiple times a day.

Works well

OFW works very well. The messaging is more like emails than SMS, but getting adjusted to the format is pretty easy. The calendar works much better on a computer than on the app for inputting data, but once it’s in, it does work well in the app. I personally really like the moments portion as it allows for good transfer of info that can be modified. The one thing I do not like is that notifications do not create a bubble like other apps do. I have used this app on both Android and Apple, and neither have the bubble notification that stays on the app icon. This makes knowing there is a message very difficult. I personally don’t look thru all the notifications regularly, so the bubble on the icon would be very beneficial.

I mean… it’s ok I guess. But not for the price!

For an app who’s assumed intent is to hold co-parents accountable (and keep them organized) this app does not seem to be designed for co-parenting situations that are in no way equal. It seems to assume that everyone is doing it 50% / 50%. This my not be the case for many co-parents out there (including myself). If all the parenting and financial responsibilities fall on one parent, it would be nice if this apps design allowed you to track this with a log, allowed you to input the expenses for your day. Or allowed you to input the expense of whatever event / enrichment activities you were putting in the calendar and kept a running account of that as well. The design interface is also so clunky and not intuitive. It just feels like it’s still in beta and for how astronomically expensive it is (I had to pay for my co-patent’s account as well as mine to get him to agree to using something like this) its just too much fir not enough!
