“Standard” per the courts – OurFamilyWizard Co-Parent App Review

OFW has the benefit of not needing to improve their platform. You can’t search messages from the app. Messages allow previews, defeating the purpose of the read receipt. Schedules can’t have two transitions in a day, something the courts shouldn’t allow, but the do. These guys have a monopoly and a steady income at $100-$120 a year per parent, but the actual product is maybe 10 years out of date. That being said, i like that it gets my co-parent out of my inbox. I like the text message notification of activity in the app. I like the password lockout so kiddos using my phone won’t find their way in. But really, these guys need to up their game. Also the tone editor is the equivalent of a spell checker. It only highlights words they recommend against, not tone. Also, my last review the developer responded that message previews aren’t a part of the app. That’s inaccurate. The first line of every message has a preview in the app. And after that review i suddenly have to log in (despite saved credentials) multiple times a day. Their suggested password when i signed up had my last name and then “BBQ” & some numbers. Coincidence? I really hope so. Still disconcerting. Anyone else have that experience? Searching on the desktop also yields odd results. Results return out of order, showing messages from 3 years ago first unless you sort. Search terms for multiple words also seem to have challenges. I really want them to improve this app. My coparent refuses to try different apps. I believe this is because this one lets them fragment information and create more drama. They use the challenging interface as an excuse not to reply, not to upload medical information, not to log schedule changes or agreements, down time as a reason to text or call (once or so monthly this seems to be true for me too). It’s frustrating. We’ve been using OFW for 3 years and there was one major update two years ago which only minimally changed some things (none of these things except ADDING the message previews). ***response to developer*** I’m glad you guys had an update. You still can’t search at all from the ios App.Many people don’t have computers anymore, so this is a glaring hole in this app’s functions. I have noticed the change in being able to reply to any message. This also prevents threading, and allows my coparent to only reply to herself, making a nightmare when trying to print a conversation. I stead of only being able to reply to the most recent message. A New issue I’ve had is not being able to print messages in the order they were written, probably related to the aforementioned. I haven’t seen the change in “preview” behavior yet, but will look for it. The logout issue I’ve been having prevents using faceID or my pin multiple times a day requiring full username and password re-entry multiple times a day.
