Working to get rich

Wish I could select a louder and more attention grabbing alert for my location based alerts! Very rarely do they alert me! Other than that it's a great app

Long time fan...kinda disappointed

spbennie

Great app...does a ton. Developers are awesome. Still doesn’t support batch editing of tasks on ipad or iphone. Deal breaker for me as I don’t always get to all my tasks and don’t use my mac for work. Changing the defer dates for each task at the end of the day is maddening. Once I see this feature I may come back for a try. If you don’t need batch editing, then buy this app as it’s the best. If you do need it, try Things 3, 2Do, or Todoist.

Disappointed

Gamma401

I am so disappointed in this recent update. I thought the move to IOS11 was going to be the big one. Finally adding multiple contexts, multiple item selection, manual task ordering, multiple context locations, and other major and glaring issues that have remained unaddressed for years. I have held out hope for this application for so long, but the only reason I haven’t switched to another application is the other two best options don’t offer hierarchical tasks or Mac sister applications. I really want to like this program, for it to be the linchpin of my system, but I don’t and it just... isn’t.

Cumbersome UX, Disappointed by OmniGroup

Faraz Yashar

I’ve used Omnifocus for years on my Mac (since v1.6 maybe?), but it’s time to say good bye. Inputting tasks, a cornerstone of GTD, has become a painful task itself on iOS. To enter a task with a project, context, and due date, you’ll have to endure umpteen taps and a some god awefully unintuitive wheel-based date selection interfaces. Perhaps I should blame Apple for making that the Gold Standard™ of date and time UX, but OmniGroup should know better... Granted I’ve also been spoiled by my ability to add times to tasks using natural language input on Omnifocus for macOS (e.g. “Tomorrow night” for a date.) Adding a task should be as simple as typing “Follow Up for Diagrams #Workflow1 @Work next Friday”. Altogether, I feel like Omnifocus for iOS gets in the way of my productivity. Along with these gripes on iOS, I can’t justify spending another $30 for an app that’s completely locked into the Apple ecosystem and lacks a web interface. I’ve plan to migrate to something cross-platform, even if that means paying a few dollars a month for it.

5 Stars coming out of the gate!

I'm still looking over the software and will write more about the APP, but this company has the best of the best. Written documentation, trial periods even in the IOS APP! These two things alone show promise that my days of hunting for a good task APP may finally be over. I sure hope so. I'll be back...

Best productivity app!!

OmniFocus is definitely the best productivity app out there regardless of its high price tag. It takes an hour to learn the app properly but it can do wonders for you. My only complain would be the price of the Pro upgrade. The extra $20 is a bit too much. Especially since the only real upgrade is custom perspectives. The Pro upgrade on the desktop on the other hand is worth the price. Cons: I really hope the app gets an option to add multiple contexts this year and better support for recurring tasks.

GTD super app

Use this with your calendar and a copy of Getting Things Done. Things get done, with less stress.

The Watch app is oversimplified

Artem Gordinsky

I love the iPhone and the Mac apps, but the one for Apple Watch is almost useless, personally. I don’t see why I can’t at least see my list of projects and tasks within them. I think it can do much more.

Showing its age

I’ve used this app for years, but it’s really falling behind quick at this point. If someone bought into OmniFocus now, they’d be buying into something several years old with no true update on the horizon. It’s time for a complete rewrite Omni.

Effective, Quality App

I can’t think of an app that could better organize my to-do tasks around the way I think. It’s well worth the price, but for what you’re paying, some additional features would be nice: More seamless syncing, especially on the desktop The ability to set pre-requisite actions from other projects Time-bound contexts Customizable notification fields independent of due/defer dates (sometimes I need a notification for an action before it’s due, but not every time a deferral is up on an action) Ability to set custom groupings (I.e. project grouping, context grouping, other group settings) to more accurately allow a combination of GTD-purism and extra-GTD methods to occur at once
