Good, not great

Dean Bokhari

I really enjoy the structure OmniFocus provides and how it’s in-line with GTD. But you guys really do need to step it up in the following areas: 1. SYNCING. It simply takes too long. Syncing should be swift and seem-less. Always. 2. NOTIFICATIONS. When I’m reminded of a project I’m working on, I should have more options within the banner notification. Right now, I can choose ‘Snooze’ or ‘Complete’... but what about deferring it until tomorrow? Or being reminded again in an hour? Both of the above are very basic features that should be included in every productivity app, free or paid. I’ve been using OmniFocus on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch for over two years now, and I have seen minimal improvements and updates. OmniGroup, I really hope this doesn’t fall on deaf ears, because I know I’m not the only one who’s got these issues. And I also know I’m not the only one who’d love to keep using this product, if only you’d bring it up to speed.

Nice, But Needs Simplified UI

The Builder....

I really want to like this app because of its sheer customizability and syncing capabilities (which is the best in the industry); however, the interface has to be simplified greatly... Right now, Things 3 is blowing the competition away because of its very simplified interface and syncing capabilities (especially the rearranging of lists via drag and drop without making any additional taps); however, I believe that if OmniFocus begins to “focus” on simplifying the interface across all platforms while maintaining their strong functionality, they could become more appealing to more people...

All this app does is crash

CWS11

Don’t waste your money. This app crashes every time it’s opened on my iPhone. It’s far too expensive of an app to have this kind of flaw.

Missing Features

Gamma401

I’ve decided to rewrite my original review because the first was written in a fit of frustration in regard to my expectations vs. reality. I appreciate Omnifocus and Omnigroup, I really do. But their update cycle is painfully slow and I’m bumping up against the edges of OF’s capability too often. I was content enough with these limitations, until Omnigroup promised me some major updates at the beginning of the year and now have failed to deliver or even adjust their statement so I could adjust my expectations. (Edit: I stand corrected!) Regardless of this, Omnifocus is a solid application and I’m continuing to develop better ways to deploy it and mold it to my needs. I understand Omnigroup has a few products to look after but, please, maybe just hire another developer or two?

Awesome

I love Omnifocus! It’s a great looking app and so powerful. I probably just scratch the surface but it’s comforting to know that I can grow into more and more sophisticated workflows as needed. It’s really improved my life and lowered my stress levels. And let’s face it, purple is really the best color out there.

Excellent task app!

gorob

I don't even have 100 tasks and the app start up is slow.

Free (limited) Trial

Buster Dog

Promised a free two week trial. You must register an account to find out that the features are limited in trial mode. Nagging to upgrade began immediately. If I’m going to spend $60 to upgrade then I certainly want to do a hassle free evaluation. I just deleted the trial and will move on.

Excellent App

iBayern1

I am using 14 days trial of OF and I must say that I am really impressed by the quality of this app, but unfortunately it is very expensive for me. I wish you had different tier for pricing, for example, $10 without syncing, $20 cloud backup not syncing, and $40 for all full basic features. My other concern is that one should pay another $40 for OF 3 latter.

Lack of moderization is worrisome

AmazMatt

Still my go-to app. But still loads slow, and still is hard to integrate with other apps/Siri/Alexa etc. lots of people are moving to Todoist. But alas, OmniFocus still does start dates best. But they are seeming more and more out of touch. It's time for a major update.

Update?

RachNP

After the update I am in read only mode. It won't let me restore my previous purchase. Incredibly frustrating that I can't add anything new or check anything off as done. I use this app all the time to get stuff done and now I can't do any of that!
