One Powerful App

ScottNWDW

This is probably the best task app that there is on the market. I’ve tried many of the others out there, but OmniFocus is the best of them all. Sure some of the others are cheaper and some of the others have features that I wish OmniFocus had. On the other hand, OmniFocus is stable and powerful and has many more features than some of the others. Combines with the Mac app it is even better. The sync is pretty flawless and he’s never been a problem for me - I am using the OmniSync service. It may have a bigger learning curve than the others, but there are plenty of videos and articles out there to guide you along. The downloadable manual is also a big help, and something none of the other apps provide.

Surprisingly great

I wasn't sure what I was getting into, but something about Omnifocus for iPad is just a perfect combination. I figured that it'd be underused in the device ecosystem, but I'm beginning to think that – even more than desktop or phone – iPad will be my primary omnifocus device.

Why so few reviews on current (2.14.1) upgrade?

Puzzled in limbo

I rely heavily on OmniFocus, and usually wait until there's a solid base of reviews on any new update. Does any one know why they aren't appearing? The OF community is knowledgeable and involved. By now there should be hundreds....

Keeps My Life Running

JoshCook83

I have been an Omnifocus user since 2007, and I still use it every single day. The phone app is great for capturing to-do items as they come to mind, and I love the location based reminders. This app is the glue that holds my personal and professional life together. It's absolutely the best value of any app on my phone.

App is okay but not worth the pricing gimmicks

Vulgar demos

I just searched my records and I shelled out about $40 to Omnigroup over the past couple of years. This doesn't include the Mac purchase for the pro upgrade. And yet when I restore purchase to upgrade pro it tells me I haven't purchased it. Maybe I haven't? Maybe I got something else? Who knows. I searched their forums and there are books written on how exactly all the upgrading and pricing schemes works across their current app and legacy app, and all the little things you apparently have to do to avoid making the same purchase all over again on multiple devices. I am more than willing to pay for an app that works for me. But I can't pay with my time, and that's what Omnigroup is demanding of me with their insistence with their current gimmicks. It tells me that when I spend another $20, I'll be back to square one when version 3 comes out, and I'll have to deal with uninstalling and reinstalling their legacy app and dealing with a new set of gimmicks. It's befuddling that Omnigroup is cheapening their brand with these annoyances worthy of dime stores and 99 cent App Store games.

iOS Great - macOS version a let down

hho26bw

Omnifocus is pretty good but the Mac version has one massive flaw - unless it is launched on the Mac, it will not notify you with alarms nor can you use Quick Entry feature. Omni Group needs to develop a helper app that loads at startup to make these features available on the Mac. I know this is a iOS review area but I have been requesting this for over a year and now I am sending the message to a larger user group. Come on Omni Group... Let Omnifocus for Mac notifications and Quick Entry features work without being launched. Thank You.

Best task management platform, by far.

The title says it all.

Amazing app and service

Few applications these days have this level of quality and care.

For the price, you sure make us wait on the updates. This app has a lot of catching up to do. Omni focus really needs to have a web API. Or at the very least a web interface. Contexts should be way more powerful, especially with integrations with the watch. Natural language processing is a must.

2.15 is Unusable - Fixed by OmniGroup

Andrew Goetz

Edit: After calling and talking with support, they determined that the application could not handle the large number of completed issues in my database. After these were removed, 2.15 started up. Overall I'm quite pleased with the application, despite these issues. I actually love this software, but this update crashes immediately upon launch. Unfortuanately, I use this software to run my life, and now I'm lost because of this buggy update.
