Camera won’t move

It moved the first day, and then never again... worked with their support and they could move it, but for some reason on iPhone the camera won’t move...

I purchased 5 of these. For the past 3 weeks only 2 have been working. I tried resetting them, the internet and the app but they still don’t work. These are just a waste of money


New update won’t let me format sd card

I understand with every update things should run smoother and better but 2 mths ago one of my outside cameras stopped recording on SD card as it continues to tell me failed to format SD card and now my second camera is doing the same . Yes I understand you guys want us to buy the iCloud storage but I bought SD card to help me save on monthly / yearly costs . I’ve tried disconnecting , restarting , swapped old sd to new sd to try to format such cars but nothing has helped . Please fix

I have two cameras now. Both run on Ethernet connections. I had some trouble setting up the first. But got help from customer support. I have used customer support a few times. They have always been patient and worked thru everything. You have to be a somewhat technical to set up any kind of camera from a Dvr to a GoPro etc. I don’t feel this is any harder. It’s not magic. For the price of the camera and the yearly subscription it is a good deal. My connections are stable. And the app does its job.

I agree with other reviewers. It is great for live video and even records sounds from outside with the windows closed (with the camera being indoors)... Love that feature, but to review previous events on video... not so good.

overall reliability and improvements

I don’t want to be negative. I really don’t. I have 7 vigil Netvue cameras. I’ve been a user for a year plus now. Kelly was helpful when I was in need for a support. My neighborhood had a few issues and I have to have something reliable to be able to have an evidence. That’s were Netvue fails. A few critical times cameras didn’t work due to who knows why. I have micro SD installed but somehow the recording didn’t happened. It applies to other user comments - motion detection fails short with no reason (I don’t pretend AI will recognize a moving object and it seems to be available as the subscription perk). Audio (both way communication) is not feasible though one way you may hear but with some noticeable latency. I found so far that the cameras withstand the weather pretty well though I’m covering cameras where possible. Lagging network connection (my wireless is set with one of the top routers and decent DOCSYS 3.1 modem (my provider’s feed is 300 mbps). I manage my devices but it seems that too many Netvue cameras under 2.4 ghz are creating lags. Latest app, updated a week ago us s joke. Unable to connect to the internet?? Getting message that Settings - General - Data loading failed, please try again later - is concerning. The cameras are upgraded to the latest version 1285? The power adapter power cable should be longer. I’d rather not to invest into third party extension cables. Please read closely about privacy. Yet we agreed to send data to PR China and that can be a security issue. And the phone battery is being eaten by app quite a lot.


Great picture, inconsistent motion

The whole point is to be notified when someone is on our porch or driveway. It worked beautifully day 1, and not at all day 2. I can still view live & recorded, but zero notifications. Support has been useless. I have attempted Live Chat that no one responded to, and have emailed Support at their provided email. The only response from them (twice!) is to “log in to original account”. We only have 1 account so yeah, it’s logged in to the original.
