Horrible company horrible service

CraigPH9000

Just found out that the iOS app is no longer supported for viewing recordings on their cloud service. Only worked half the time anyway.

Do not buy- It’s a hunk of junk

Srawleigh

Took over 20 mins to try to setup and yes, it was on the 2.4 network at my home. And it still failed. Service was not very helpful and took a very long time to reply each time in chat. Save yourself the time and skip this brand.

To update or not to update

Hobgoblin5001

E V E R Y update I lose functionality, last month the update added a cooling period that was not previously there, sound now modulates to an ear piercing alien like screaming in live or recorded video, notifications only work when you are sleeping with a loud sound that jolts you out of bed only to try and review the event and get a generic error message that is not even correct. The microphone feature doesn’t disengage until 25 seconds AFTER the visitor responds so you don’t hear anything. How do I yell at the neighbors if I don’t get to hear their blood curdling screams?? I paid to be tortured…. And that’s the best features. Edit …. Now I don’t receive notifications at all. It’s probably too late if you are checking out the app but RUN. With extra RUN. Get a wired system with dvr and laugh at your friends.

Really bad app

Will Clarke

I bought a Netvue camera to use as a baby monitor. I have a lot of problems with it. First, the video gets super delayed. Sometimes by a minute or two. So I’ll be looking at my baby on the monitor sleeping soundly but in reality he’s crying in his crib and I won’t realize it for quite a while. Second, the app doesn’t use two factor authentication so literally any hacker who guesses my password could spy in on my baby, my wife nursing, or anything else going on in that room. I have a pretty complex password, so it’s not a huge deal, but it’s still a risk. Third, the app doesn’t support background video, so I have to keep it full screen in order to monitor my baby. So I can’t use my iPad for anything else while my baby is napping. Fourth, it has a really annoying bug with screen rotation. Whenever you first open the video feed, it launches in portrait orientation regardless of the orientation of your device. If you want to get it to switch to landscape, which is obviously the preferable orientation since it gives you a full view of the camera, you have to turn your device into portrait orientation, and then BACK to landscape orientation, to get it to display and landscape orientation.

Drops off line constantly

Bigjohn42

I have a vigil 2 outdoor camera. It will not stay on network. Restart does not work on any of my Netvue cameras. So it’s offline until I can unplug it. I put a repeater next to it, still drops off. This is in a vacation home. Not dependable. Support, to date, has been useless. When it works it’s fine. I have several other Netvue cameras at this house they all work fine.

Worked great for a year then stopped

I don’t know if the app needs a update or what, but today the camera started glitching, so I removed it an tried to connect our back up (never used). It won’t even connect. Very disappointing
