First time awful experience with National

I have been an Executive elite member of Emerald National for over 10 years. Been renting from National for over 10 Years. Never had any issue except this time around. The vehicle had no working windshield fluid, no fluids in the reservoir and after I added my own it did not work meaning it was not working at all. Here in Montreal and travel to QC I had to stop frequently to clean the windshield so I could actually see where I was going. Really risky. Also my very first time experience with CS at National to change drop off location CS rep and even the supervisor really played it ignorant and tried to push me to the rental pick up location in Montreal which the location never ever pick up their phone. CS basically tried to pass the responsibility to the location and they would not even stay on the phone to see if anyone will pick up so they could probably have a different approach if they did not. I guess there is always a first for every thing. I will continue renting with National but no longer at Montreal airport location.

Overcharged fuel service

Ask led me to buy 1/4 tank fuel option in EVV l, charged me for full tank. Would have caused my company to over pay by $30 if I had not detected it. Not a good experience this last rental.

Using the app, and the same National number I’ve had for decades, I cannot get an aisle rate. My rentals always tell me to proceed to the counter, never the Aisle.

RDU rocks! Great people, excellent service with plenty of cars. Great selection vehicles, even pick up trucks. Quick and easy shuttle service.

Not your fault, but I wasnt going to wait 1/2 hr to haul my luggage on a giant bus to get to my Executive Aisle reservation. I’ll Uber it this weekend

Have to sign out and re-sign in each time I open the app b/c it keeps me signed in, but doesn’t pull up any of my profile info or reservations

Great feature that makes it easy to pickup and go. Only issue is if you use for both personal and business make sure you select the correct credit card before you scan as it cannot be changed afterwards until you return the vehicle and even then it required going into the office to make the change.


Absurd Corporate Rule neglects customer

My company had at least 60 individuals renting 1 car per person for over 35 days. However National won’t allow each person to accumulate points based on the days we rent the car. This is clearly allowing National to avoid providing key member benefits and incentives to its customers. The credit card (business or personal)used to book the rental should play NO factor regarding National customers receiving Rental points for spending $ with this company. Only National Corp has this policy with its business contracts.


Executive status in the bomb

Really enjoying the Executive status in national and the hassle free rental. The app is better than Hertz's but it's still a bit dated. Not clear why we can't search but radius from location rather than branch by branch. During the holidays when some branches run out of cars it's a real pain.
