This app makes no sense to me. It’s a little ironic that this app is so chaotic when it’s supposed to help with organization. There is no tutorial and after using this app for 2 weeks, I still don’t understand half of the features. I would give it 0 stars if I could!

The latest update added some welcome UI improvements and tweaks. My progress in migrating all my projects to MLO continues and I still haven’t run across anything that it can’t do, relative to all the other task management apps available (and yes, I’ve tried them ALL, though I am no longer renewing subscriptions to most of them, because they’re just too limiting for my needs). In fact, I’m still finding new reporting/viewing options, as well as power in tracking and documenting my activities. My review of the previous version is still valid, so I’ve included it here: I’ve gotten (& paid for) all the big players in the Task/Project Management category of apps, and I’m almost a month into the process of migrating several hundred tasks in dozens of projects from several of the best (and most expensive) apps to MLO. Why? Because it’s the only one that will do it all: excellent (subscription-based) sync, multiple levels of folders, projects, tasks & sub-tasks (finally, somebody who spends more time developing a solution than trying to tell me how not to manage my projects!), multiple contexts and flags, very smart and capable filters and views, notes that I can search even after the task/project is marked complete (who doesn’t need history?), you name it, the kitchen sink is here in this app. It’s not perfect, but they’re also very actively developing it, and their support almost always refreshingly responds with “we’re working on that” or “we’ve put that on our list”, rather than “we don’t do that”. What are MLO’s weaknesses? No TextExpander (or internal equivalent shortcut expansion) support. The UI is a bit cumbersome (but suggestions have been accepted and are in development on more expansive multi-edit capabilities. No keyboard shortcuts (but in development). The “con” list is way shorter than the “pro” list, and the “pro” list includes a lot of things nobody else does at all, much less very well.

This is not the best task management tool I’ve ever used (that would be OmniFocus, hands down), but it is very good. I needed a tool that would work across iOS and windows, and I think this is the best option available. The interface is clean and intuitive. Using the tool is straightforward, and there are no major bugs.

This is really a review of the Windows desktop client + iOS version in tandem. For years, I have gone back and forth with MLO, Omnifocus, Things, Todoist, and others. Recently I tried Things 3 and while gorgeous, I miss the power user features. Omnifocus again never seems to stick with me for very long, something about the UI always grinds me to a hault. So now with Parallels 13 & Windows 10, MLO runs in a VM almost flawlessly, though I still wish for a native MLO Mac app. That all being said, nothing holds a candle to the feature set in MLO if you are a power user. Sequential tasks and even dependencies across the entire Outline, Project status/management, Workspaces, views, filters, flags, stars, by far the most robust implementation of recurring tasks, unlimited Outline depth, auto prioritization of the flat todo lists via optional computed score of relative dates, Importance, Urgency etc. Also, the most configurable custom views, with unlimited depth for boolean logic and custom grouping and sorting. Great location based reminders on mobile, full outline support on mobile, on and on. I feel like I’m back, permenantly, if not for a long time with MLO, and am looking forward to Desktop version 5 with a new UI, markdown in Notes, and Google Calendar sync and corresponding mobile updates.

The outlining feature is ideal for my way of thinking. I'm able to organize work the way my mind thinks of it. Its a kind of mind mapping type feature that seems natural. When I'm done, MLO then calculates priorities and gives me a clean, simple todo list. Syncing across platforms is smooth (although a continuous sync capability would be nice). I typically enter tasks on my PC and use my phone for logging progress. The inbox allows me to enter on the fly and categorize later. Recurring task options are rich and highly customizable. Projects are simple to manage. I'd like the ability to track progress on non-project talks. The biggest shortcoming, IMHO, is the lack of features to manage task delegation.

I love the app, and use it across all of my devices. The best feature for me is the reoccurring tasks that are scheduled for the next occurrence WHEN I actually complete them. My only wish for improvement would be not to receive annoying messages when updates are available. It’s too ‘in your face’. There should be a better way to communicate. The app and all of the updates are expensive.

I am a bit of a list maker and digital lists work great but I have been struggling to find one that is multi-platform. I have lots of devices of every kind this vendor supports and I intend to find out if their cloud service works as needed. I have use various software on different platforms dating back to the days when Handango was the original App Store! So far I have tried this on this iPhone, my iPad, Android phone and Tablet and my PC. Next up... cloud syncing.

Customizable to be as simple or complicated as you want.

Working great. Excited to see what’s coming next, as the more I work with MLO, the more I find ways to help my productivity.
