Mandatory app permissions

Why do so many apps these days require you to give them permissions to things they shouldn’t need in order to work? The very first thing this app requested after launching it was permission to access my location. Why? This is suppose to be an app to remote control my TV. Why does it matter where I am in the world to do that? The app refuses to run unless you grant it these permissions. Right in the description of the app before I even installed it said “Mandatory app permissions : Not required “ so the even lied to us.
Shouldn’t have to connect every time i open app

the app is ok for the most part but every time i open the app i have to reconnect my phone to my tv i shouldn’t have to keep doing that

There’s no option to screen share from the app, and then the one way to screen share only works for android. Leaves us poor iPhone users out in the cold!
This app works great!!!! Why all the negatives?

I had to download this app at my sons house (his two year old lost the remote ?!) I literally signed into his WiFi, turned in the tv, downloaded this app and was watching Hulu in less than 5 minutes.. I don’t understand the negatives ??♀️ this is the best tv app I’ve used..

So I connect app to tv, I use it for 2-3 minutes it disconnects and furthermore my tv stuck in continuous loop of restarts. That’s upsetting.

I just downloaded this app and found it useless... I have deleted it and downloaded a different app. I am requested a full refund.
Why do you need my location?

The latest update requires that you share your location!! WHY??? You don’t need to know where I am. The App works off my Wifi! The app generally works well. It would be nice if you could turn on the TV using it.
