Nice but...

gxen

It’s really nice being able to control the volume or being able to turn off the tv, but I have to pair with my tv EVERY time I open the app, even if I only minimize the app for a second I have to pair again, it’s lengthy and annoying and sometimes you just need to turn the volume down quickly because someone is sleeping in the next room. Please fix this issue, thank you!

Location services?

MadGamer10

Why am I forced to give access to my location in order to use this tv remote app? I don’t see why a remote would need my location. Can this be updated to not require this?

Don’t bother w/this App...Not sure why developer even updates app

As basically every other review indicates...this app is horrific. Connect one, lucky you. Good luck maintaining that connection. And even better luck trying to re-establish that connection. Constantly searching for the TV.

Location services?!

Mike the Dog

So, since the last time I lost my remote, somebody decided to make this app so it will not function without full access to location services. In fact, if you deny it access (which I cannot comprehend why it needs), it will helpfully close itself. I deleted it from my other phone (on the same i-account), and now the app store app tells me I’ve never downloaded it before. Odd, since it’s still on this phone (for another five minutes or so). This is BULL$HIT and you can rest assured I will never purchase another LG product. Ever. You had one chance and you fu¢ked it up.

bunk

won’t connect to tv despite being on the same wifi. youtube can find the tv, so i know it’s not a connectivity issue.

Garbage!!!

I’ve tried to connect to my tv multiple times and everytime it just searches and finds nothing. If I could give zero starts I would. Deleting app.

Why does it need my location?

jeponline

I’m so upset that a remote control app requires my location that I’m writing my first ever review. The app itself was fine and I liked the touchpad feature, but now I will never use this app again since it just started requiring permission to location services. I simply cannot comprehend why the app needs this info except for a large corporation to invade my privacy. Isn’t all the data they probably download directly from my tv enough?

This app makes LG look bad.

nick-nameEd

I’ve been a big fan of LG products since my first flip phone. I love the TV I purchased but this app leaves a lot to be desired. The UI could be a bit smoother and offer a few customization options for the user. I did quite enjoy having a separate method of operating my tv if I lost/was too lazy to find the remote. I use the past tense now because the most recent update forces the user to share location data or auto quits itself. I would rather spend 15 minutes searching for the remote or get up and physically operate the TV than give a permission that is absolutely unnecessary. There’s so much potential that could be offered. Maybe scrap this app and create a new one? 1 Star because it’s no longer usable for me.

Location data?

nbirdsong

As of the most recent update, the app won't work unless I give it access to my location data. But the app doesn't actually use location data for any aspect of its functionality. It's just an unnecessary way of collecting personal data, which is aggravating and abusive toward those who spent money on an LG TV.

What a waste

Why does it need my location to just change the volume on my tv? Dumb
