those who think JPay is bad haven’t used GTL

I’ve never had any real major issues with JPay besides them allowing me to send a message and video message to someone In California that can’t receive either was wondering why the video message was only 1 stamp. Other than that my loved ones receive their messages, money , pictures in a timely fashion that’s NOT happening with GTL! They don’t force you to write a subject line and they have e-cards others do not! MN is going to GTL I’m just hopping that they keep JPay also otherwise your better off sending mail the traditional way!

Sending pictures and reporting bugs

Yeah, so I can’t snap and send I tried doing it all kinds of ways I upload a picture then it asks that I select a contact and so I do and then it takes me to the part where it asks for the state and the inmate ID so I put it up it brings up my contact and I select it but it tells me there is an error, that the contact already exists so I uninstalled the app reinstalled it still does not work. I tried to report a bug error I select the category and it does not allow me to send it off...... I’m wondering what in the world is going on. The inmate is allowed to receive picture and video grams and Insta cards as well. The app is preventing me from doing so please fix that! Thank you

Grateful to be in touch with my loved one. But Jpay has the worst customer service reps I’ve ever had experiences with. The app takes your stamps your money and when you call about it the wait time is over an hour.

Not on the visitor list.

I just set up my JPay app. I am on my friend’s visitor and phone list and if I go to the phone site they recognize me as such. JPay tells me I’m not on the list and even misspells visitor. Of course, it doesn’t tell you that until you finish entering your account info and going through all of the set up steps to get there. If it is just going to tell me I’m not on the list just do it before I give you my personal and financial info.

Can’t email in the app anymore?!

Opened the app today to email my friend and now you can’t even email in the app anymore?! Isn’t that the whole point of it?!?! You have to click a link and it takes you to some website you have to sign up for and email through there...sooo annoying!!! What’s the point of JPay if I can’t even use it to email anymore!!!! Having an app is soooo much more convenient than having to go on a website!!! Change it back!!!

Well this app is the only way to stay in touch with incarcerated family or friends and so it can get away with charging you money to email photos... I don’t know who runs this system but they are greedy and unethical. Expect to pay money for every little thing. It doesn’t even pretend to not be exploiting people.

Just an overall poor app and user experience

Terrible design, app doesn’t even fit the full screen of the phone, services seem way to expensive, I’d recommend saving yourself money and going thru the Post Office.

Wont let me add a card to contact my loved one. i’ve tried everything, reinstalling the app, updating my phone, etc. figured jpay would be a more convenient place to send pictures and letters but it really is just way more confusing and not helpful in anyway.

This app is trash! Won’t let you log in! Constantly says signing in! Changed password an still same thing! Says I don’t got messages when I do, get them a day late with a different date! Stuff is highlighted black so you can’t see! Just awful!
