Gross

Don’t get this app if you are a woman. They banned me for my profile picture that I’m in a swimsuit on vacation connected to my Facebook profile for being to sexual and that it’s implying “flirting or sexual indication.” These are the type of people to say women who are raped were asking for it.

Worst

DiNa-_-.

When I get on this app I try to message people and upload pictures of sunsets but it told me that I am temporarily banned or something idk and I waited 3 months and I went back to try again and it said that same thing over and over again so this is the worst app!

Sad

If I’m paying $12 a month I should be able to text as many people as I want. Wish I knew there was a contact limit when I paid the $12. This is ridiculous and unnecessary

Nice app

Great to communicate with others to learn a language. There is an issue where when replying to a comment the screen shifts too far and the response text box hides behind the keyboard and you can’t see what you’re typing.

Actually free

This is something I needed to help me with my language learning. It is a free app, there is an upgrade feature but you don’t seem to need it to actually talk to people. I have been engaging in conversation with local speakers of my target language and it has been great! I’ve learned a lot.

Awesome

Hello talk is an awesome app! I love it a lot, I met many great friends, I’m currently studying Russian and I met two good friends in Russia helping me pronounce things and spelling! It’s a great way to learn languages! Хорошо! Спасибо!

I have been using the app for only about 4 days now, and I don’t feel comfortable on the app and I’m not sure why. It may just be me but I am trusting my gut and logging out of account and also deleting it off my phone. Overall, it is amazing for language learning and actually pretty safe! There isn’t lot of learning material to study from but lots of people you can chat with! I was very overwhelmed by the amount of people trying to chat with me which is amazing but it started interfering with my day to day life and I had it for less than a week ? One person on the app did make me feel very uncomfortable when I chatted with them and I think that’s one of the main reasons I deleted it. You can report those people, turn of their message notifications, and even remove them or block them. I definitely don’t discourage using the app but just be careful and safe as you should be on every other social media or messaging platform!

I’m subscribed but it says I’m not

DUOLINGO PLEASE REPLY TO THIS

Probably a glitch or something but I’m an official VIP but it won’t allow me to have access to VIP functions. Can this please be fixed?

One of the best apps!

Aloha_Maiya

I totally recommend HelloTalk! It’s a really good app to make some new friends, exchange SNS, and even learn from them. I want to learn Japanese, and so far all the people that I’ve met are super nice and helpful! (I even met one of my best friends on this app!) Download it for a wonderful experience! You won’t regret it! :)

Immersion at a discount

To be homest, this app is what you make it. Being the internet, there are many trolls, spammers and thirst buckets, but beyond that are kind hearted people, life-long friendships and quality lessons from natives to be found. Just have to keep searching
