There's no point to having an app because the cabs never come or take 2 hours. Better off using Lyft or Uber.
Before the iOS 8 update, this app was functional-- it wasn't pretty, but it got the job done. Now you can only book a cab for "right now" because the time and date pop-up is completely broken. Having to call to schedule in advance is a big problem since dispatched cabs take much longer to get to you than a driver accepting an app booking. Fix this or you'll be losing a lot of hotel-booked fares.
I have no issue with the app itself, it handled booking and tracking status easily. However, the goal is to have a taxi show up when you book a time in advance. At my booking time there is no taxi and I get a message that they are just now sending a request for the "nearest available taxi". It wasn't until I called the dispatcher on the phone that I got a response. The dispatcher was pretty worthless, repeating "we're notifying the nearest available taxi" regardless of what I asked. Taxi showed up 17 minutes late. No wonder Uber is taking this space.
Unless you like waiting an hour for a cab, or even have them call you and tell you they won't be picking you up, then I would avoid this App and Austin Yellow Cab like the plague. The worst taxi service ever.
Download Lyft or Uber....or just walk where you're going. It will be much faster and cheaper
Download Lyft and put in code RIDEOFMYLIFE or download Uber and use code U39BU for a couple free rides!
I used this app twice on a recent trip to Austin for cabs near downtown, and it worked beautifully. I really appreciated the map showing in near-real time where my cab was, so I could relax inside the bar/restaurant until it was a couple of blocks away.
The app works fine, but the cabs make no effort to pick you up if they find someone closer. I've had multiple experiences with cabs accepting me but picking up someone else instead. I'd understand if they were close to me and got the wrong person, but you can't be blocks away and make that mistake. This app is pointless if the cabs aren't obligated to at least try and get you.
