Google Authenticator is free iOS app published by Google LLC

Puzzled as to why Google devs decided Google Auth did not require a form of prior authorization to gain access. iOS devices are locked with a passcode/biometrics. However, a temporarily unlocked device still leaves the RSA tokencodes out in the open. I cannot use Google Auth until this is implemented. Please remember, redundancy is key to security. Anything worth securing with RSA keys should be concerned about protecting those codes as well. Thanks!

At the perfectly wrong moment, as if according to Murphy’s Law this app quit recognizing the need to authenticate in the other app. This cost me time and money in the process. I won’t use this as a 2FA again.

If your phone breaks or is stolen, you’ll have lost access to any account you’ve used this app to secure. There should be some kind of highly private cloud system put in place. Then we could simply log into the same account from another device, and have the same information associated with that account come up. This could really cost a lot of people a lot of money. Come on guys.

The most tedious and most unnecessary thing to come to existence. Being forced to authenticate accounts with this is ridiculous. The app is terrible to work with UX wise

Had to get a new iPhone because my last one crashed. Went to re-download the app and I can’t even log-in to use it again.

This is the most basic, barebones, non-user friendly Authenticator app I have come across. I have lost accounts due to using this app and not being able to find them. One of my accounts apparently even got breached even though it was under Google Authenticator 2FA. Authy is a much better 2FA and is was more user-friendly. Go for them instead at any chance possible.

so i used an authentication way on my cord acc because i kept getting logged out due to some hacks, now i got a new phone and all, but the authentication has a really weird way of logging in, made me lose a lot of stuff. :/.

Nintendo forced me to download this app to utilize my 2FA after I got hacked. They forced this app upon me. After I reset my phone, everything is gone. Everything. Now my Nintendo acct is locked out because they forced this app on me, which has no recovery option or anything attached to it. Would rate less if I could. Use another app that ACTUALLY gives a crap about users.

Suggestion: Why don't there is a cloud account to save the identifiers in case the phone is lost. I hope this happens
