Works as advertised

Ryan BurnsRed

I use this app for a couple services and must say that it works as advertised. Just point at given QR code and it starts generating random codes like it's supposed to immediately.

Doesn't save when switching devices

The Great Reviewski

If you wipe your phone or get a new phone this authenticate will not work. It's nearly impossible re-setup devices that you have already linked to the authenticator. I've been looking online trying to figure out how to redo it and have come across nothing. What was once a useful annoying app is now just useless to me. I wish the app would be login based so if you did get a new phone then you would just login and then there came the codes to the accounts linked.

Apple Watch

Please create a WatchOS app...much more convenient to look at my wrist for my 2FA code then to pull out the phone. Thanks.

Poor Backup Options

Tmittleman

I have used Google Authenticator and Authy. Initially I preferred GA due to less txt alerts. But real test was transferring to a replacement phone. Apple replaced my phone, did a restore from icloud and wiped old phone. Authy was easy to reauthenticate and kept all sites linked. GA did not. All was lost. Kept walking me through resetting my Google 2-step but no way to get previous sites entered.

SAVE YOUR ACCOUNTS

Habdbbbdbdveve

I had my snapchat account linked to the authenticator app I had got a new phone so I had to login again and I had the email and password right but it keeps saying a code has been seen to that app so I went to that app it says setup so I did I didn't have a barcode so I choose manual entry it said give it my email and the entry code which I don't know then I look online everywhere and they don't even have a contact service for this app so please save you self the trouble and take the risk and don't download this app >:( ??????

Won't read QR code. What's the point.

Won't read QR code. What's the point.

Haven't had issues

I use this app for multiple accounts I own. If you're smart, you won't rely on this app for security and you'll have a phone number or alternate way to access your account if this app should break because of an update (which it hasn't for me)

Does not carry over

Zarpaulus

I changed phones, now I can't log in to Patreon because it doesn't remember any codes I had entered before switching.

no backup

xJaBeR

If you update through itunes, Or just lose your phone, Then you'll lose access to all of your accounts... Why? because this app doesn't have "backup" option, If you lost your phone, then you'll have to re-config ALL of your accounts AGAIN,

Needs Apple Watch Support

Jakub Kudlacz

I like this app, it allows me to securly log into different accounts, yes if you change your Phone you need to setup your accounts again (btw this is a feature not a bug, because if someone steals your phone and gains access to it you will be hacked) I feel the key omission is lack of Apple Watch option, which should be very easy to implement. I am using VIP access app for Fidelity 2 step authentication and they have Apple Watch support build in, which really make it handy to look up the code and type it in. So Google Authenticator Team, let get coding and at the feature ASAP. Who knows maybe iOS 3 will offer it. Fingers crossed.
