So I used FreeNow to pre-book a taxi for the following morning, thinking that everything was good-I saw a pending 18€ charge in PayPal, everything seemed on point. Until the next morning when the taxi was a no show. Luckily, the taxi stand that was a 15 minute walk away had a cab (it normally doesn’t at 0430 in the morning), so I made it to the Airport Terminal with just a little bit of rage in my heart. If you offer pre-booking services, the companies that execute the order should be reliable and follow-through with it. In the end I was not charged for the ride, but the inconvenience was enough to convince me not to use this app again if I am in a time crunch.

This app sucked for me. First the login flow kept issuing errors. I figured out perhaps because it was using a US phone number (even though it gives the option to). Then, I try to call a car and pay by Apple Pay and it says issue with payment method for no apparent reason. So I choose pay cash as the option. Exact same error. This thing makes no sense and is filled with bugs

Promo code from Google Maps didn’t work

Downloaded this app for the first time after seeing it on Google Maps. Used the promo code GMAPS20 and was told it wasn’t valid. I then removed my credit card number and uninstalled the app. FALSE ADVERTISING. LOST A POTENTIAL CUSTOMER. DO NOT USE.

Too many cancelled rides!!

I try to prebook taxi rides and 75% of the time there is never a driver so my request gets cancelled!! And it’s always more expensive than the estimate. AND 100% of the time my RIDE request is cancelled because there are never drivers!! What a stupid expensive frustrating app! I still haven’t taken a “ride” or been able to use any of the useless 40% off vouchers. I wish Germany has another app but we’re stuck with this one.

[Edited] Better to pay with the app. For some reason I have been charged twice when paying with card (card and app charges). Not sure whether the driver cannot let the app know that a card payment was already submitted or they choose not to. If the former, that should get fixed. If the later, should get addressed, too... The service overall is convenient. Works with local taxi services so you can get picked up very soon in places where taxis are on the move constantly. Update: I contacted FreeNow regarding the issue, providing proof of duplicate charges. The charges were reviewed and reversed fast ?

Then claimed there was a surge and they couldn’t refund it, even though I booked the ride based on the quoted. Deceiving and absolutely terrible customer service. Might as well stick to Uber.

Good app, would be great to tip rider after

Seriously annoyed...

Really like the app. Easy to use, good tracking on driver so we know where they are and when they’re likely to arrive. One thing that would be helpful is if we could tip the driver / decide on the tip amount AFTER the ride’s over. If I forget to update the tip amount during the ride, or if I would prefer to select my tip amount only once I reach my destination (in case something goes particularly well or poorly), it’d be handy to be able to tip after.

On the rare occasions where a cab responds after five or ten minutes of trying, half the time they cancel before arriving, leaving you stranded. Shame because the service works really well in other places.

I went to somewhere and back, first driver followed prescribed route and fare ended up being right at $18. Second driver did not follow prescribed route and ended up with $26 fare for same ride- we did not hit any traffic. No transparency in actual amount charged by taxi, will be using rideshare from now on. Not fair if they cannot honor quoted prices.
