Good app gone bad

JcRausch

This used to be a fantastic product and app. Now useless. It won’t always run and when you are able to make it connect, it’s only for a few minutes. Very disappointing. The screen image is a blurry mess now and had always been sharp before the “upgrades”. Guys if something isn’t broke. Don’t fix it.

Great device but one concern.

I’ve had mine since about the time it came out. I work at a distributor and it is very useful in my job. The concern that I have is whether the device has damaged the jack in my iPhone 7+. My charging cords fit a bit loose compared to the other two iPhones I have that I don’t use the FLIR One on. Yeah, I have three phones.

Connectivity issues & UI / Features need some work.

I’ve had my FLIR One Pro, for about 9 months. I’ve always found the UI to be a bit clunky. I recently upgraded to iPhone X’s Max, and have experienced issues, where the pallet, simply switches off, when you try to select a tool. (Very frustrating). I’m also experiencing problems with the app, connecting to the FLIR One Pro Unit. With the FLIR One attached, and powered on, I will launch the app, and it asks me to connect my FLIR device to the phone. It will simply sit there and do nothing. I have to force quit the app and relaunch, for the app to recognize the attached camera. (iOS 12.1) One of the weakest points of the app, is the inability to use MSX mode (or a separate, specialty mode) that would allow you to toggle your image view between strictly thermal or visual display or view side-by-side. I’m not referring to the existing ability to record images in either Thermal or Visual Modes. What I would like, (and find as a major improvement to the FLIR One’s utility) is the ability to record dual-mode images (or view live) with conveniently available (not opening pallet, selecting mode tool, then choosing mode) method to rapidly switch the view between modes. (For live viewing, possibly use force-touch to toggle between real-life and thermal views. For recorded photos, similar functionality, with the additional ability to see both images, side-by-side, simultaneously. ) A third party developer had an app that would do that; but it quit functioning with iOS 11.2 and hasn’t been updated in over a year. This is something that FLIR should include, by default.

FLIR one pro on IPhone XR

Please fix the app! When using XR and flipping the phone so the camera is on top like I did with my iPhone 6, the camera flips but not the phone/app meaning everything is upside down!

Worst purchase of tech

Devin707

I can’t express how disappointing the FLIR ONE device, app, and support are. Avoid at all costs, or risk wasting hundreds of dollars. 1. Gen 2 device was on backorder. 2. Mere weeks after delivery, Gen 3 goes on sale. Real customer service would have offered a change in the order that close. 3. Device rarely operates. App crashes when plugged in and powered on. 4. Customer support offered no successful troubleshooting, but it stalled its support until the warranty expired. 5. The “new” website won’t even allow a user to type 3 letters into the search field. FLIR used to be great. What a disgrace they’ve become.

Broken menu on 12.1.1

Al Colonel

Want to update my firmware. Clicking on any option In the about menu causes the app the crash and restart. Doesn’t matter if flir one connected or not. It crashes.

Doesn’t save photos anymore!

MisterMysterio

Used to work, now it doesn’t save photos on iOS12 with full photo read/write permissions granted.

Fire One + App = Crap

The FLIR One is basically almost USELESS, especially for video purposes. * The app crashes a LOT * The app frequenlty loses connection with the camera, so right when you need it to work, it doesn't *The files saved to my camera roll have bizarre dates. for instance, in Photos two f them have dates of May 17, 2264992 ns Aug 5, 2264958, whereas in Imager Capture I see dates like Jan 13, 2711 and Dec 28, 1056; where the HELL are these coming from? * FLIR watermarks every image or video you take. There's NO option to turn this off, so you're stuck advertising for them. Mind you, this is not some stupid free thing, you pay over $200 for this thing, Their unhelpful advice is to "crop it out", which means losing parts of a not-that-high-res to begin with picture. * While the software combines images from the IR sensor and a built-in camera there's no option for shooting with just the IR. So the only way shoot pure IR is to slap a piece of black tape over the lens * Their "customer support" was rude when I wrote about the watermark issue

It works, but needs some TLC.

The interface is a bit klunky and not very intuitive. Functions like selecting multiple photos are organized differently than Most other apps and it makes for a bit of a learning curve. Some features are not functioning. For example, when sending an image, there is a option to send using WhatsApp. When you try and do that, no image is sent.

Unusable

Slash308

App works for exactly 3 minutes then disconnects from the camera. Confirmed with 3 different Gen 1 FLIR Ones and 4 different iPhones! It’s exactly 3 minutes every time. Forced obsolescence? I think so.
