Pay-to-get

Why do I have to pay for something that was advertised as free? I understand the price is only $2 a month, but people using this app probably don’t have two dollars a month. I know that the items you provide are not free for you (the Fix Company). So, it seems like one of two things happened: 1) After so many people signed up for this app you realized the cost outweighed the profit, and so you had to start charging money, OR 2) You made the app free at first to gain customers, then after giving them time to earn points - but not enough points to earn a product - locked MANY products behind a paywall. This way, we would be more likely to go ahead and pay every month, and still feel like we “earned” a prize.

Pay to get “free” merch?

I understand officials merch is expensive, however when each point is roughly a penny, FIX makes money off of every reward they ship. When I received my first reward, a wall flag, I was so excited. I had gotten official merchandise from my favorite band, all for listening to their songs! I quickly started making sure to earn as many points as I could. However, in the latest update, things like shirts, hoodies, and hats are all premium rewards. The only things you can order without paying any money whatsoever is the CDs and vinyl records. I was going to save my points and order a hoodie, but now I cannot, unless I want to pay FIX 1.99 a month for “free” band merch. I was ready to tell my friends to download it and start using it, but I will not being telling anyone about this app, unless things change. What was totally free (minus the ads, which I have no problem with), is now “pay to play”. This app was created to connect fans to artists through news and the promise of rewards, but it has fallen away. This app may he free to download, but now it’s “pay to win”. Great idea, but it seems like the developers are too caught up on making money.

The “free” part is only a 1-time deal

This used to be a great way to add up points by streaming music, reading news articles, and playing the Name That Tune game, and then eventually redeem a prize with your accumulated points. I was saving my points up on this app for a while and was almost to the amount of the prize I wanted to redeem, but then the app started their Premium deal. Now the prize I was so close to getting requires me to buy the app’s premium service in order to redeem it. Even if you have enough points, you can’t redeem the prize without buying the Premium subscription. And sure—it has a 3-day trial, you can redeem your prize during that period. But if you don’t want to actually buy the Premium deal, that means you would cancel after the trial. So from that point on, all prizes (minus a few small prizes the app offers to still qualify as a “free” service) will require you to *buy* the Premium in order to redeem. So that doesn’t make this a free service anymore, it is only free once.

Rewards become locked

I have been using this app for about 3 months or more and I’m around 2100 points and suddenly all of the rewards I had looked at and been saving for have all of a sudden became “fix premium” reward. Like literally 3/4 of the rewards available are now premium only when they weren’t for the last 3 months

Y’all weird but ok....

So I was so close to buying this paramore shirt and when I got on the app fix they are so needy with this fix premium thing, they do that to get more money but on all the clothes, hoodies and stuff it’s only for people who have premium so i really can’t get nothing now it was such a fun and good app until they did that but i guess I have to delete this app..

apple music?

love the app, but i am slightly disappointed that they don’t offer you the ability to stream songs through apple music.

UPDATE

???

I LOVED this app but I’m not a fan of this new update. I got this app to get free tickets or Merch from my favorite artists and I entered a contest to win free Why Don’t We Tickets and I ended up winning but they wouldn’t give them to me because I’m not 18 I even had my mom sign off on the paper and everything and they still wouldn’t which I think is messed up not everyone on this app is 18 years or older. My second problem is the Merch is for premium only now so what am I supposed to do with all my points that I have been saving up to get Merch? I’m disappointed in the new update and I think it’s unfair. But I like that we had the chance to get free stuff. I also like that the more you listen to artists the higher you get on their fan charts. Please change the Merch back to how it was if you don’t then there’s no point for me to have this app anymore and I might as well delete it to save more space on my phone.

new update ?

When i first got this app, i thought it was a really great concept that you could reward those who regularly stream music from their favorite artists, especially for those who don’t have the means to buy merchandise. however, this new “premium” update completely ruins the purpose of the app, in my opinion. i’ve been saving up for a hoodie or t-shirt for several months now, and it’s very disappointing to see that users now have to pay a monthly fee for the items they’ve been looking forward to getting.

Premium

tadashi21

The app was all good and fine until this premium update. I had 3000 points because I was saving for a hoodie that now I can’t even get. All it allows me to actually get is just CDs

Most of the rewards are premium only

SiggoW

I wanna say 90% of treats are premium only now. By the time I was able to gain enough points to get a good prize everything went to premium. I feel like I’ve now wasted all this time and effort for nothing. You can't even LOOK at the reward if you don't have premium
