Subscribed since the beginning and I usually enjoyed the magazine. I was not happy with the switch to monthly but I liked the fact that my print subscription still included digital access so I could easily read on the go. However, I am now unable to access the digital subscription without paying for it. Sadly, I will not be renewing.

I’ve subscribed for 20 years, using the app for the last 6 years. The latest version of the app is making me rethink my loyalties. Over the last few issues I’m lucky if I can make it past 3 pages before app shuts down and kicks me out. Looking at the reviews this seems to be a common theme that needs to be fixed - soon.


Why won’t the app open?

When I try to open the app, all I see is the logo. The magazines don’t appear anymore. I would like to read the issues I have paid for.

I have subscribed to Entertainment Weekly for years...as one of its charter members decades ago. Up until this year, I have given my paper issues to my sister and read my paid issues on my iPad. Now there is no way to do it on this app. There used to be a way whereby I could input my account number but it doesn’t exist anymore and you want me to pay per issue when I have a paid subscription through June, 2021. UPDATE: Everything is fixed and I now have access to my paid subscription on the app! However, the app crashes repeatedly after reading a page or two. It’s always something, eh?

Subscriber who can’t access online issues

I tried to contact someone about issues with this app, but I was told to simply make sure the app is updated. It is. Nothing. Refreshing my library and checking for updates isn’t doing much. I am a current subscriber that cannot access any issues on the app beyond August 2020.


No Access for Paid Subscribers

According to my EW account, my subscription is paid in full. However, the app will not let me access any issues. Every issue must be (re) purchased. Despite logging out/in, the issue persists. Pointless app.


Terrible. No latest news. Don’t bother

I LOVED this app before. But for weeks the “latest news “ tab has not updated and even though I’ve reached out to them there has been no solution. I used to check the latest news every night about my fav shows and movies and now nothing. Since they’ve gone monthly I’m really questioning my subscription. And I’ve been a subscriber from the start. EW needs to get their act together and quickly. I’m almost through with them. Good luck if you think you need them.

Update: customer service got back to me right away and solved the problem. Thank you! I can’t access any issues after January. My subscription is definitely still active and I’ve been having this problem for months. I emailed customer service and never heard back. Please help, because I don’t know who to contact about this. Love the magazine, but can’t read it so...
