Doesn't work at all since the update

Latest update is terrible! Issues take forever to download and every time you flip the page, there’s an incredibly annoying “Swipe up for reader view” banner at the top. I don’t need to see that on EVERY SINGLE PAGE!
Good mag, horribly frustrating app

Updated the app just recently and have had nothing but trouble. It will not download the current issue. I even tried signing out then signing in again but nothing. Why didn’t the developers leave the app as it was instead of giving us a “new and improved” version. Wouldn’t it be nice if it actually was new and improved? Looks like it’s back to reading the printed magazine. Ridiculous.

New app does not see any new magazines that come out, and you can not get your past purchases. The app is harder to use.

I was forced to update because the old app couldn't download new issues any more. And the new version is total sh*t!!! Crashes all the time and pix are intolerably blurry!

The new Entertainment Weekly app is the worst. It’s not user-friendly at all. There have been many times where I’ve been reading an article and the app just crashes. Also on the old app when I finished reading a particular article I can close off the app and when I come back to the app later the magazine would be immediately opened to the last article I read. Not with the new app. When I go back to continue reading the magazine the app opens on the cover and I have to scroll through the entire magazine till I find the article that I was up to. Annoying! Please go back to the old way the app was. It was fantastic and very user-friendly

Love the magazine~I’m a subscriber since 1996~ hate the new app update! It’s not user friendly at all. It worked great in the previous version. If it’s not broke, don’t try to fix it. Please change it back.

The new update to the app completely ruined the whole experience. Out of the several digital magazines I’ve subscribed to EW was, hands-down, the best (no crashing, rare re-log-in’s, continue where leaving off, once downloaded the quality was consistent). Not anymore! This constantly crashes; after an issue is downloaded, the pictures look as if they are still partially loading; if you close an issue, you must find where you left off; what was once a streamlined interface is now cluttered like a webpage. After two issues, I cancelled my subscription (I’ll keep getting issues for a few more months). Was this even beta tested?

I just wanted to thank you for this latest upgrade, which has made reading EW unnecessarily burdensome. Well done! In fact, I hate what this app has become I needed to come back and add to this review. I admit that years ago I did not like the e-version of EW, but I grew to really enjoy it. I enjoyed the interaction with the page the app provided. That is all gone now and all the app provides is a knock-off pdf version of the magazine. I so enjoyed the previous electronic version of EW that honestly kept renewing my subscription so I could read THAT version. The paper version just goes to waste. Unless something happens and we get the more fun, more enjoyable app version back, when renewal time comes around I’m out. There is nothing inherent to EW that I can’t get on the internet for free and more timely.
