Not working on ipad for more than an hour.

Sky-chicken

I am using dscam for 4 years now and it had its up and downs but for almost a year now it stops working after about an hour. I have my ipad on the wall and dscam us running 24/7 but now after about an hour the picture freezes and all i can do is end the app and restarts. Very frustrating. I am using the latest IOS. Not for professional use. If you check from time to time on your cameras than you might be happy with this program

Nice improvements, need download capability

SierraTech

The last update makes event searches easier. We like the timeline layout. Would like the ability to download a clip to iPhone or iPad. Looked for this feature and couldn’t find a simple method to download or share a clip. I could use screen recording but that’s convoluted.

Update new router prevent outside access

Big Bear Angus

I recently replaced my old apple router with google nest router, and I set up the application portal for surveillance station at https port 9901 and then did configured port forward of port 9901 my new goold nest router to synology box. When I am outside home wifi network, I can login to surveillance station with my home url: https://bear.i234.me:9901/ without any problem. But it just doesn't work on my phone. When I tried log in to DS cam app on my phone from outside home, it says: Failed to connect to Surveillance stations. Please check your network connection and IP address". I even tried setup quick connect, but got the same error. However, the DS cam app only works at home when I connected to my home WIFI network. I can view all my home cameras when I am at home with DS Cam app. I already tried everything still can't get my phone's app DS Cam to work.

The best

I had moved about a year ago and today I set my surveillance station back up using Reolink RLC-422 cameras. BOY has the optioned changed on this application, makes it super user friendly. As long as you know what you are doing you can create a camera recording system interface that is way above a anything else. I am an electrical engineer and spent the last couple of weeks integrating a 80k Pelco camera system with our existing one so I know what a user interface should look like. To the developers, thank you so much for putting in the time and making this what it is. Btw, I have had an iPhone since basically day one and this is my first review. Your effort has not gone unnoticed, it’s now time to advertise! Make this a standard!

Fantastic App!

The DS Cam app is great. I started moving over to the Synology platform about 2yrs ago and I have been super impressed. The responsiveness of the app goes along with everything else I have experienced. The UI is very clean and reliable... I'm able to quickly start-up, connect and view my cameras within a few seconds. All of the customizations are just what I need! Thank you for all the hard work, in making this platform and experience seamless! Suggestions: My only suggestions are to perhaps allow a little more freedom with the Views. I wish there was a view which allowed you to just select a single column and scroll (sort-of like the 1x3 view), but if I had 10 cameras I could quickly scroll through all of them in the single column. Finally, if there was a way to adjust the motion detection zones from within the app that would be great, but it definitely is not a deal breaker.

Love the updates!

I left Surveillance Station last year because the app has lacking a lot of key features. Today I decided to give it another try because I liked how organized everything was on my NAS sticking with the synology apps and I really don’t want to continue to run a separate docker instance. I have to say I was presently surprise at the updates to the mobile app! Why not 5 stars? - I have not fully checked out all the features but so far it looks like it meets all of my needs now. I will update when I do! As a developer, I understand the work that goes into these features. It’s a thankless job! To the developers- Well done! I have been spinning up docker containers testing other software (xeoma, blue iris, zoneminder, and more) and I feel like you guys now have the most complete package. I would say the only features I feel is missing is a way to add more licenses without waiting for the hard license to arrive. At a minimum, maybe give us the ability to add the camera in a trial mode until the keys arrive. Keep up the great work!

App needs reboot every 2 days.

I use this App for 5 years and went to many updates. The iPad is on my wall and runs this App 24/7. Every 24-48 house the App freezes and needs to be rebooted. Only 1-2 releases over the years when this was not the case but than apple updates or Synology updates and the software become unstable. I notice lately that they reset the software when streaming stops so I think they working on thus shortcoming. Great idea but not fir professional use at all. To check there cameras occasionally it works great but nit constant monitoring where you see all the cameras all the time.

Perfect for quick checks and review

Great app to see what’s going on remote. Use it local when at the house and away. Has a great method to switch between different addresses (for example local IP vs public IP when your not home). My wife uses it as well and she’s as computer savvy as a boomer . Would love to continue to see more features added but what’s there is good and has always worked for me

New update is SLOW

Killingspy

Ever since this new update, I can’t even access cameras remotely. If they do pop up they take minutes and recordings do not play properly and are also slow if they do. I know this issue lies with the app directly because Surveillance Station remotely on a Mac loads up perfectly. PLEASE FIX!!

Good but could be great

Support for the “YI” dome cam would be a great bonus plus the DS Cam IOS app does not seem to enable/disable “home mode” via geofence automatically unless I manually open the app while connected to my home WiFi even though I have the option to “always allow location” enabled.
