App needs work!

mc_hudd

I really wish the app would not sign me out as often as it does!!!

Won’t stay logged in

seagoat8888

The app used to stay logged in for months, but now every other time I use it I have to retype my login and password. Huge pain. You’d think at the barest minimum it’d remember the login part and only ask for a password!

Used to be great.

TCtronic

Constantly logs me out so it’s no longer reliable. Cameras themselves are decent and motion settings work. App needs work but the hardware is good.

Crappy app you have to sign in all the time

The real mexcano

It drives me nuts. I have a different brand for a rental and I open the app in the background and can access at ant time. This app, even if open, requires you to re-sign in all the time. The rest is ok. The quality and speed are more relevant to which camera you have and your wifi speed.

Activity feed a problem

Legal0202

My camera works well for static viewing and I purchased activity feed. It was working fine but now, as soon as I pull up a feed is, it closes the whole app. Disapointing when I’m paying $11/month.

Keeps logging me out

BeeLeeZeKid123

Works great. But every time I close and reopen the app, I always need to log back in. Super annoying! Please fix this!!!

Unhappy for these reasons...owned one year 2016 review update

Bstrackm

This is truly one of the most disappointing products I've ever been aware of existing! It's frustrating because the hardware is excellent it's all management implementation follow through etc. After One year things are worse if I called to try and fix them they give me another free month of service where less than half of the features work less than half the time making it 90% unreliable at least I have tried to find some usefulness for it but besides watching stream of what's happening right now most of the time you're out of luck! after all the troubleshooting hours of promises and BS I don't want another month of free service I want my $200 back they can have the camera or they can give me a credit towards a thermostat. I have asked for these options and been told it's just not possible so due to blatant lies breach of contract and misrepresentation of product and software capabilities i'm going to talk to my attorney. I'm going to approach them once more with an opportunity to credit me to some other Nest product just to get my capital investment back not the months of service I paid for, not all the lost time, frustration and beta testing I did for them just the $200 for the camera. If they do not cooperate...(WE SHOULD ALL DO THIS!!!) then I am going to file against them in small claims court for the above-mentioned violations against me. Then one of two things can happen they can decide to credit me and get me out from under this terrible product. OR I will invest the $20 and hour or two it takes to appear in court and possibly add on a refund for the months of service that I paid for and probably win even if I don't it cost me 20 bucks and a few hours I bet it cost google 2 to $10,000 in attorney fees just to show up. This leaves another two possible outcomes. They don't show up to court (they would be fools too) and I win by default. OR I provide them with the consequences they deserve and hold them accountable to their wrongs because it's the right thing to do and helps prevent others from suffering the same reality in the future. Wish me luck I'll let you know how it goes… (Below is my original previous review) Geolocation is a joke. I paid extra for the pro version which clearly states 1080p on the box the cameras software is written not to utilize 1080p from the sensor and instead captures at 720p. This is further compressed to lower quality when sent to nest servers then further still when downloading which unfortunately is the only way to have actual possession of the video. It's greatly disappointing that such an expensive camera gives you no direct access do your video stream or to save video to a computer or other device or even to act merely as a WebCam. Although nest support has greatly impressed me in the past especially with their broad hours of service a month ago when troubleshooting problems and learning about the above disappointments I was treated with contempt and disrespect

Why am I receiving three notifications?

Why am I receiving three notifications all of the sudden?

tech support solution: “Hang a Blanket"

iPodDad

Actually really liked the Dropcam and especially the ability to make “”zones” for the camera to watch for activity. I bought two of them. Jump forward a year or so >> I just got off one hour tech support call with Google (the new owners). They now require a subscription to make the zones available. I asked to return the cameras, they said no and offered ONE FREE MONTH! of subscription. I said thank you but no, I will take the Dropcams to Apple where I bought them and i’m pretty sure they will let me return them and I don’t want or need a $$/mo subscription. I said it was about TRUST and if they sold me a GOOGLE CAR and one day the windshield wipers don’t work without my paying for them, I do not trust them anymore. They even disabled the original Dropcam app so you can’t go back to the original setup. My whole use for the camera was to know if my garage door opened. I used the zone tool to tell the camera to ignore activity in the garage door windows which it did very well, and to e-mail me a pic if there is activity in the other areas (my garage door opening, for example). The Google tech guy offers the best he can: “HANG A BLANKET” over the windows. Best laugh I have had in a while. You were very funny Sr. Tech Support man. (Withholding name out of courtesy, but thank you “R” for the good laugh) Ahh, life in Silly Valley…

Crashing

Crash when I go to activity feed. Frustrating.
