Should I download the Dropcam app?
There are still a few features in the Dropcam app that aren’t in the Nest app yet. So until we add control by location, email alerts, and video sharing to the Nest app, we’ll keep the Dropcam app up and running.

This app doesn’t work anymore. It no longer sends notifications when the camera detects movement making the purpose of the drop am essentially useless. They want you to use the nest app. My nest app is my personal account for my home. The drop cam is a business account at my office. Can’t use both at the same time because they no longer do any support for the drop an app.
The original email alert showing a photo at the time the camera detected motion or sound was great because I’m not always available to connect right away to see the live feed.
As the drop can app will no longer exist and it will be joint with nest I would like to suggest having the option to have 2 accounts or more to see all the cameras. Because I have 2 accounts on two different houses. How am I going to do? I can’t use the same account for both. Thank you.
The app is incredibly slow-if you have a notification set to go off when the camera picks up and animal or intruder, they will be gone by the time the app loads and streams video. Many times it also logs me out or crashes for no reason, which is super painful.
I use this camera primarily to keep an eye on my parents who are aging rapidly with dementia while they're living in their own home. When this product works is great however most the time is not successful. I reset and reboot, I unplug, I call support etc. and nothing seems to help. After calling Support it'll work for a few weeks and then stopped for no apparent reason. This is the only device on the Wi-Fi the band was should not be an issue. To be honest I feel like I wasted my money purchasing this product because It's more frustration and time for repair then the time it actually works.
I filed a complaint 4 months ago that the Dropcam app and the Nestcam apps do not work with Bluetooth headphones. They have yet to resolve the problem. I have four cameras in my home and I am very disappointed that the issue has not been resolved.
Crashes when trying to update wifi. Suggestion from FAQ is to change wifi crendentials.
Love the idea of Dropcam. Worked for awhile, but now the app crashes when you try to connect the camera online. No trouble shoot available.
This app is now completely useless. For the last 3 days when I try to watch the live feed, it just says "loading" and it will not load. I've disconnected the drop cam & reconnected it after waiting a whole, but that did nothing! So frustrating when you count on something like this to monitor the safety of your home.
Don't waste your money on the history recording option offered by Nest till the fix this app. It's getting worse.
