Bailed on moving day

Booked with Dolly a month in advance and the scheduled movers bailed on moving day. Customer service is atrocious and kept saying to push my move day out. How? I can only push it out so far before I’m outside my lease. Do not bother booking in advance. Book directly with a moving company if you want to be on a schedule and have peace of mind.

Set up to move a fridge to the basement one week in advance. Within an hour, got a text that it was accepted and someone would be at my home on the day requested. The night before I was notified that my job had to be re listed and was accepted by someone else who also cancelled, but then a third person accepted and set the time for 9:30am the next day. They did not call or show up. At about 1:00pm I emailed Dolly support as my job was still listed and requested to cancel it. After not hearing back from Dolly, I went online and cancelled my job, but was charged $19.00 for cancellation. When I called, they said they would refund my money, but now say they can’t, but can offer me a credit for future use.

I skipped the stairs/elevator by accident and now they are charging me $50 extra. And to cancel I would get charged 50%. I wish Dolly was transparent from the start. Had I known I would have not used their service.

Promise lots, deliver nothing. No communication until I was picking up my own furniture. Asked if I’d like to reschedule? At least keep me informed if you’re not going to do anything. Great idea with bad execution.

Simply HORRIBLE. The Movers (YES INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR) no showed day of move. NO ONE FROM “DOLLY” would call me back. Simply HORRIBLE. I ended up having to hire a mover the same day of, and got ripped off by those guys also!!! SCAM ARTIST AT ITS BEST!!!!!!! BEWARE. DO NOT USE.

First time using the app, my requested times were ignored and then the driver cancelled on me with zero minutes warning. I had to cancel the order myself?!? and the customer service rep I was forced to talk to had attitude about the cancellation. Find other options, friends. :(

I had a simple request to pick up a fish tank with the stand and move it to my place. they rescheduled me four times and 30 minutes before the pickup time, they cancelled it. support wasn’t the slightest bit helpful. will not use again.
Hire a company that pays their helpers better.

I have used Dolly several times. The other day I posted a quick job to move a fridge from my sister’s garage to my garage (no stairs, two miles away). My charge was $101. My job kept getting pushed back to the next day because each day that came, nobody would take it. Today, a helper messaged me to let me know that nobody is taking my job because Dolly is only offering the TWO helpers $35 for the job. I wouldn’t take it either. I canceled my request and will hire someone or a company that respects the people they use.

Had movers cancel on me 30 minutes before appointment. Had to pay fees to extend my lease because customer service couldn’t fill the booking after. Then ended up not being able to fill it at all. All they could say was sorry
