Buyers Beware

wowsersman

I spoke with a customer service representative who was in the US and who was great. If not for this, I probably wouldn't have even tried to do a transaction, because I normally wouldn't trust some kind of giant national corporation to provide a trustworthy experience for something like purchasing a car. This turned out to be a pretty accurate instinct to have. Despite the great service that I got from her, I ended up canceling the transaction after getting to the very last step, because I just had a bad feeling after one specific thing along the way. When you select the warrantee option, the website makes it seem like you're getting a warranty for free, but then if you look at the very bottom of the block that says zero dollars you'll notice a little teeny bit of gray text that says e.g., "+ 2 months".If you're wondering if that means two extra months added to the loan, you would be correct. If they had just told me the price of the warranty or how much it would add each month, that would be one thing, but sneaking this in tiny text at the bottom and tricking people into thinking that they are getting a warranty for free it's pretty Shiesty and made me realize that I definitely could not trust this company with anything. Once I realized I couldn't trust anything they said, then I realized I probably wouldn't get the car when they told me I would get it, that they were probably more dings and scratches then listed, that I probably would have a problem using the warranty, that the car's miles might be wrong, etc., I mean after all once trust gone, all bets are off the table. To add to that, if I had left the default option on there, I would have been paying $1600 for a 12 month warranty, whereas when I changed it to five years and increased the miles to 90,000 the price did not change. Sounds like a great deal, except for all the people who accidentally left the default option on there. TBH $1600 for a five year warranty would be fine, but I have no longer trust this company or any of its vendors. But to make matters worse, I was told that you cannot even transfer the warranty, so you're paying a ton of money for a warrantee that you can't even sell with the car.

Horrible.

Made my minimum down payment skyrocket to 5000$ when my original was 1500. Taking my business elsewhere you lost a customer

Best. Experience. Ever.

Now I don’t normally leave reviews but this was a must. Not only was it the best option for buying my Tesla but they delivered it in perfect condition as if it was new. Everyone else turned me away. But Carvana took care of me immediately. If I ever buy a car again… Carvana will be the ONLY company I buy from.

Useless w/o filter for CarPlay or Android Auto

XenoChron

I’ve used vroom and like the app so thought I’d try Carvana but I won’t buy a car without Apple CarPlay now that I’ve had it. They offer no way to filter on that feature so for me it is useless. Filtering isn’t as easy as vroom and don’t care for the way the listings show. Fix the filters and I’ll give it another try although reviews for poor service don’t give me hope.

Poor pick up and communication

Sold a car on Carvana and the selling and purchase paperwork went as smooth as can be. The guy who came out to inspect was very friendly professional and awesome. Cut us a check on site and told us they would send someone to pick it up later that afternoon. Three days later and the car is still sitting in our driveway blocking our garage and other car access. Impossible to get a human being on the phone. Have tried to call and email the local office numerous times with no success and hour plus wait times. Will probably have the car towed soon if they don’t pick it up. simple communication could have solved this customer service problem. If it’s going to be several days just say that and will move the car to a place that it doesn’t interrupt our lives.

Be aware !!!!

Multiple delays after delays after delays. Even when I took the day off for my delivery. I get a notification 3hrs before my delivery that there will be a delay.

Can’t filter trim

One of the silliest things ever ever seen from a car trading app.

Good in theory

I used Carvana to avoid having to work with dealers in person and to have a straight forward experience buying a car. The selection was good and the buying process was fast, but I’m sure I overpaid $1-2K for the convenience. Whatever, that’s fine. When it comes time for delivery, Carvana asks to pay for an Uber to take me to their location for pickup instead of delivering to my house. Not interested, please deliver to my house…the car comes, I love it, but they forget the second pair of keys. I call their support team who directs me to a second support team, who (4 days later and two phone calls) says I have to go in to a local dealer for a replacement key. Now, I’m taking time off to go in to the dealership that I was avoiding, and will have to ask them to submit a claim to Carvana for the keys to be made. So, instead of paying a small fee for convenience and ease, I’ve paid the convenience fee but will have to take extra time to sort this garbage out. It’s crazy. I’m inclined to just buy the keys myself and not have to deal with asking the dealer to make a claim to Carvana on my behalf. Your mileage may vary, I think I’ll just do it the old fashioned way next time.

Waiting, waiting, waiting and waiting

I would revisit the stars here, but I am writing a note here that I preordered two cars and I was told it will take an average of 18 days the cars to be inspected and ready, but it has been over a month and when I chat or speak with the associates, they keep saying the same repetitive information which is not helpful at all. I am wondering if anyone else may have also experienced this and what was the outcome? I already wasted/waited for these two vehicles and really don’t want to waste anymore time I am not getting these cars.

Not a bad experience

So I ordered my 2019 Nissan Altima and received it Monday afternoon. The process was super fast. I received my vehicle and I love it. You are guaranteed a 7day money back and car return as well. The insurance that is available is not bad either. When I received my vehicle it had a little bit of pet hair in the back seat but nothing too bad. If you have decent credit and your income to show that you can afford the vehicle then go for it. The vehicle I received and details all matched. When I buy another vehicle it will be through Carvana.. it was also deliver and an hour early straight to my house which worked out perfectly with my schedule that day.
