Good in theory – Carvana: Buy/Sell Used Cars Review

I used Carvana to avoid having to work with dealers in person and to have a straight forward experience buying a car. The selection was good and the buying process was fast, but I’m sure I overpaid $1-2K for the convenience. Whatever, that’s fine. When it comes time for delivery, Carvana asks to pay for an Uber to take me to their location for pickup instead of delivering to my house. Not interested, please deliver to my house…the car comes, I love it, but they forget the second pair of keys. I call their support team who directs me to a second support team, who (4 days later and two phone calls) says I have to go in to a local dealer for a replacement key. Now, I’m taking time off to go in to the dealership that I was avoiding, and will have to ask them to submit a claim to Carvana for the keys to be made. So, instead of paying a small fee for convenience and ease, I’ve paid the convenience fee but will have to take extra time to sort this garbage out. It’s crazy. I’m inclined to just buy the keys myself and not have to deal with asking the dealer to make a claim to Carvana on my behalf. Your mileage may vary, I think I’ll just do it the old fashioned way next time.
