Search for appointments, you are told about all nearby locations despite them having 0 slots in the near future, and you have to click through every single location to find that out. Just show available slots when searching! Update: there is now a switch on the results page that says “Hide Full Drives”, but it doesn’t do anything or broke. You guys spam me about platelet donating and I want to give it a try but your app is stopping me.

I got this app to make appointments in it to see my blood journey. That and the COVID-19 antibody tests are the biggest reasons I’ve been donating. This Red Cross app has failed to show me either one of those a single time this year.

Really appreciate the Rapid Pass to speed the process! Enhancement opportunities. Smart scheduling feature should auto suggest the date 8 weeks after the last scheduled appointment, if it’s within the 8 week window, otherwise use today or next 14 days, or the next day of the week from previous appt. Also, after my donation today (in Nov), I tried to schedule my next one, but the app would not allow scheduling past Dec, it kept going back to today’s date. I finally realized I had to flip to next year (I’m scheduling a Jan appt 8 weeks from now). Recommend updating the UX to make it easier (such as auto update the year when scrolling past Dec, or an alternate date picker like a calendar view). An updated smart scheduling feature, above, should also reduce issues like this since the system would auto select.

I downloaded the app knowing it would make appointments easier. I want to donate more often because blood donations saved and could have saved my family in certain circumstances and I want to be able to help someone else’s loved ones have an opportunity as well. I downloaded, deleted, restarted my phone, downloaded again and it keeps telling me it cannot sign me in. I even reset my password online and it works well on the website but I cannot get the app to cooperate. I have no idea what the app is capable of since I cannot get through. Please help.

This made donating such a smooth experience, from finding an appointment near me, to filling out my rapid pass, to adding it to my calendar. All those tasks add friction, so this app actually made it much more likely that I will donate. Plus, I can see where my donation went and know for certain it’s been used! So cool. Push notifications are awesome for this use case and a great engagement pattern.
