I am giving this a two star rating by the fact that the lights work, but the app called applights is not functioning properly. I tried calling customer service, but most of the people there acted as though they couldn’t do anything. Hello, that’s supposed to be their job. Helping others. This app could be awesome if someone took the time to update it and work out the kinks.

No Bluetooth device I’ve tried will recognize the lights. I called customer service but they told me there is only a 90 day warranty. I have 5 sets of strings and none of them work which tell me it’s the App. Or old Bluetooth technology in the lights. Skip until this is fixed.

OK but does not work well with iOS 12.1

The app works, kind of, but not as explained in the manual. The graphics do not fit well on iPhone X Max with iOS 12.1. Nice idea but needs improvements.

Work well but in the future I would like to see new features added such as new lighting effects or even smart home support. Thanks!

Confusing

The app is so unintuitive it took me almost 15 minutes to figure it out. I don’t like that it shows me options for every light you could buy when I only have one. I have to swipe through multiple screens to find the one I purchased. There should be a better way for users to select their option and then that’s what they have to work with. The app only seems to work half the time, too. I’m laying inside trying to change the effects and nothing will happen. Poor instructions. The lights look great but it would be easier to just flip a switch and get what I want without all the added hassle. Sorry, needs work!

Light strings don’t work together.

I spent hours trying to make the multiple light strings to work together. The light strings although connected in a row can be controlled but they won’t work together. At $57 a pop, they should make the different strings work together.

These lights are good...when they work

These lights were great the first season. Second year we had to exchange two strings which was possible thanks to Home Depot customer service. This year two more strings out. HD is will to exchange again but we’ll have to travel to different stores to see if the other stores will give us the same courtesy. HD is not at fault. It’s the company that makes this substandard product. And even worse customer service. We contacted AppLight customer service via e-mail and went back and forth three times with questions and answers only to finally be told they have a 90-day warranty. The back and forth could have been avoided had they been up front from the start. I do understand limited warranties, but I understand customer service even better. I would expect an exchange or replacement had I gotten at least 2-3 good years out if the product but after only one to have different sets malfunction speaks to the quality of the product. We spent about $800 on these lights only to now have them not value us as customers. AppLights gets no customer loyalty from me. I suggest trying a different brand as this company does not make a quality product and on top of that does not value its customers. I give them one star only because zero is not an option. Signed, an unvalued customer who is also a customer service professional. I expect more.

App is terrible

I’d be embarrassed to have such an awful mobile app for a product. AppLights should fire the mobile developers that produced this abysmal failure. Lights are great...if you can get the app to work properly.
