App and lights terrible

Rybob1

Bought the lights and they are incredibly dim and put out virtually no light past 5 feet. App only works some of the time with lights. I'm returning them today.

Have enjoyed so far

Great lights! Love the tech. Just opened the box and its lots of fun to try out. I bought it as an end of season sale item, so I'll be waiting a year before I permanently install. Will up to 5 stars if there's a little more customization available. Colors, and effects. It also needs a speed between starry night and glimmer.

Love my APPLights

I bought 2 sets of the spot lights last Christmas. I did use them for Christmas, but I also left them out year round. Every holiday I light up the front of my house in holiday colors. Between holidays I use the rainbow wave setting. It makes me happy. The app is really easy and it works as it is supposed to. I plan on buying 2 more sets to light the back of my house this year, as I will be on a pond in a brand new home. Awesome app and product.

Good but not the best.

These lights need more than just glimmer, steady, sparkle, and lightshow modes. The app needs a tool that lets the user use the app and lights with full control. Like a color balance wheel. Steadily switch in between colors by touching the screen and drawing in circles or even across the wheel. Lights at this price should have an app with that kind of feature. If there's to be an update for that I'll be more than happy to even use the lights and app for a party event.

App isn’t that good, so I hacked them

I bought a lot these on sale after Christmas to use in my light show, but that won’t happen as they use a proprietary type of LED pixel. So I ended up putting them inside... but the app is awful!! I ended up reverse engineering the Bluetooth protocol and writing a program that runs on a Raspberry Pi to bridge the lights to SmartThings. Now I can control each string individually from WiFi (from anywhere in the world) and set timers (all of which you can’t do with this app)!

Too expensive for not enough control

Seattleblue2

App seems to work ok, but sets cost way too much for limited color control. Looking for all season option (some of these exists) and two color combos for sport team colors. Specific colors are not strong, Purple and blue, in particular.

Poorly written app. Lousy GUI !

I would like to be able to control individual sets of lights independently. Also custom color selection would be nice. Very disappointed in this product !

Works fine, needs schedule feature

breedm

Seems like if the strong can handle so many combinations of lights/colors, it wouldn't be impossible to put in a clock and a schedule too. Otherwise, it works fine.

So close...

Love the lights. Love the effects. But need to be able to set individual strings to different colors/settings. Could be REALLY useful with just that one added feature.
