Bought on impulse when they were on clearance. They seem to work fine but disappointed there is no way to customize colors/schemes or have multiple strings work in sequence. In other words, each string will do the exact same lights rather than combine to make the effect bigger. I’d like a light wave to travel across my whole house from string to string rather than have three matching waves on my three strands. Looking through the release notes just updates for new iOS releases the past two years, so don’t expect any growth here. Off to check the web to see if someone has reverse engineered the communication protocols so I can get more out of these.

Although the Lights work, the App is ABSOLUTELY poorly created, especially for the supposed Christmas LightShow, a Pathetic attempt to give a show to your neighbors. Who ever thought Valentine colors Purple,Red, And A Pathetic shade of White would actually be included in the “Christmas LightShow”, not to mention the lousy sequences or patterns, this App should be turned over for Open Sourcing, where the individual can Control ALL aspects of the lighting Control, where one can create their own Colors/Sequences/ brightness. Please Just don’t bother with this App or the Other App. Created by the same creators from Gemmy. Just is NOT WORTH the COSTS NOR THE LOOK THAT YOU WOULD WANT! A single word to describe would be, LAME!

The app no longer works with the lights. I have 2 strings running together, both are stuck in different light schemes and they no longer respond to any commands via the app. Instructions say to unplug & connect 4 times to reset and they’ll blink. They don’t. Complete waste of money.

I’ve had these lights now going on 3-4 years. I’ve got several varieties of strings. 6 icycle strands on my house alone. They work great year in and year out. Last year my first strand stopped working. They are a lost cause unfortunately. Another stopped as well but I was able to return. I decided to write a review now because I put up the lights just now and doggonit they won’t change colors or blinks. Not on a single strand. I noticed the app pushed an update 2 days ago. Still doesn’t work. After thinking through it a bit. It doesn’t connect to the strings like it should. When I see the “6” connected lights they are red. They should be green. Then I began to think no way all of them are busted. Gotta be a software issue. My kids have older iPad minis that won’t accept ios13. So I downloaded the app and tried that. Works like usual again. Hopefully they push another update that fixes the issue but we love them. We leave our lights up from Halloween to New Years. I use thanksgiving colors for November and Christmas light shows for December. Hope this review helps others with the same issue.

Avoid these at all costs. The light strands will not even last one holiday season. They start randomly flashing even when turned off. Glad we got them for 75% off. They’re not even worth that. Great idea. HORRIBLE execution. Now iOS 13 doesn’t work.

Been using the app successfully for 3 years. As of today it fails to control the several sets of $50 lights that I bought. Will try on a non ios 13 device if I can find one. Update: I dug up an old ipad running ios 8 and downloaded this app onto it. It is able to control the lights.

Was working fine up until the iOS 13 update. Now nothing works. The on and off doesn’t switch on the light. The select button is now the in and off for whatever reason. Uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing.
