Usually fails to connect

Usually fails to connect to our single Apple TV. Two different iPhones using the app fail to connect most of the time.

Works great until it’s unpaired from a third gen and won’t reconnect again...
Can only use certain functions of remote

I am able to do everything with this EXCEPT scroll which makes it impossible to use my Apple TV.

Am I missing something or is this app missing the volume control buttons? I mean if this app is a suppose to be a replacement of the physical remote, you would think it would have all the same buttons and features. Even the app symbol has the shape of the physical remote with the volume buttons. This should be better than the physical remote since it can add features like the details and chapter selection and game mode. But it completely drops the ball on a such a basic and simple feature like volume controls.
Doesn’t recognize my old A1469 Apple TV streaming device

When the app is loaded and run, it immediately locks up on a mostly blank page that says “Add Apple TV Don’t see what you’re looking for? Make sure you’re on the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV” Of course I the streaming device is working just fine on the same wifi as my Iphone.
Works maybe half the time

The app is pretty cool when it wants to work. The times it doesn’t want to work it says to “make sure my phone and Apple TV devices are both in the same WiFi network” they are and still the app won’t work. Then it’ll magically start working but 1 hour down the line it’ll stop working n kick u off. Very inconvenient n makes it kinda useless to have in the first place. Apple needs to fix this.

My remote that came with the Apple TV broke so I started using the app but I got new WiFi on my iPhone but the Apple TV isn’t connected to it so I can’t really use the app because my Apple TV isn’t under the same WiFi as my iPhone is

I hate this remote. No, really—I hate it. It randomly drops the connection with the Apple TV all the time, without rhyme or reason. I’m literally sitting in the same chair, within the same hour, using the same streaming app, and the app just stops working and can no longer find the same Apple TV box that it had just connected to not even 20 minutes earlier. It’s a coin flip that the app will actually function as a remote each time you go to use it. You see all the 1 and 2-star ratings; how has this continued to be so incredibly poor for such a long time with no fix at all from the developer?
