Works great but there should be a volume control like on the physical remote the Apple TV comes with

What happened to the type feature? If the Apple TV refuses to save info and I have to verify repeatedly I DO NOT want to scroll for each individual character. This once had an auto keyboard to fill in text options. Swiping is all that’s available. This app has been watered down to a testy digital version of the physical remote — minus a feature or two

Used to be bulletproof. Fairly recent update ruined everything. I get about 30sec-1min if connectivity, then poof - loss of connection. Sad thing is, the app doesn’t usually know it’s disconnected - other times it claims the AppleTV (4th gen) isn’t online, even though it is streaming a show. Don’t really have this problem with my Apple Watch remote app (well, not as frequently) so it has to be this app. I’m on an updated XR, so it’s not me Apple, it’s you.

I don’t get why you have to use a remote to let the app work because you have to sink it. I lost my remote and that’s why I downloaded the app. 1 Star

I have downloaded and deleted this app more times than I can count. Every time I hope that the bugs have been fixed, but they never are. Super convenient to have when it works. Total pain in the butt when it doesn’t.

I use the apple remote all the time and it never glitches for me. I wish their was a way to add a volume control. I use a bose blutooth speaker connected to my apple TV that my real apple remote can control. It would be so awesome to have that in the app as well.

With the update, both of our phone app remotes won’t connect to tv anymore.

I can’t even use it! I’m clearly watching my Apple TV and the remote can’t don’t it! What a waste of time and download!

This app has consistently had a terrible record of connecting with my Apple TV 4th gen. It probably connects ten percent of the time despite being on the same WiFi network. This has been the case over two iPhones and more than a year of trying. Useless. Home WiFi is rock solid, so that is not the issue.
