Heart rate not syncing correctly

Dave.Ed

When I first downloaded this app after reading glowing reviews, it wouldn’t sync heart rate at all from my Apple Watch. After reading trouble shooting tips I finally had to uninstall app, reboot watch and phone, and reinstall. Now heart rate keeps dropping out for the middle of my workout. I expect more from a $6 app. Tried again after rebooting everything and cleaning sensor, keeps freezing up on the same rate.

Great app

I’ve been jogging w this app for about 3 months now. The app is awesome and I find note and more features regularly. There are only a few options that I wish were available. Those first. The display on my phone has a lot of data. I wish however it had a single screen in a customizable data table format for me to review. I wouldn’t eliminate any of the standard summary screens just add this one customizable table. The other item, I wish I could export more than one workout at a time to more easily import the data into another program to analyze my performance and trends. For cycling I can export all rides from my Garmon bike computer into Golden Cheetah for analysis over time. I wish the same were possible here. You can export one workout at a time but I haven’t found a way to export mote than one at a time. One last wish for data display on the phone. I’d like to see time spent in each of the 5 hear rate zones. The watch has a tiny column graph but the phone doesn’t replicate this. You do get the data in a more complicated method but this would be one other data field I wish were in the phone. You do get a tiny graph on your watch but it’s not quite what I’d like to see. Other that those few wish list items I love this app. On the Apple Watch the data and the screens can be organized in so many ways. More than I will try to Identify. There are standard screens that are all customizable on your Apple Watch. I’m in my mid 50s and worried about being able to see the data without reading glasses. You can adjust the text size many sizes but better than that, touch any individual data field and it temporarily appears in large size as the only item on the screen. I can see everything. Splits and notifications can be set at any distance you choose. I typically run trails about 5-6 miles 4-5 times per week. With each run I’ve set it to announce my splits each mile. When reviewing your past workouts in your phone, each workout can be viewed individually or grouped by just about any way you like. Do you want to group runs by the month, by week, by workout type, you can. The display will show you hours run for the month, total miles, average pace, average heart rate, average heart rate zone, calories and more. For such a cheap price for this app and all it does it’s a steal. One of the items mentioned frequently about this app is it’s mapping feature. I normally run the same few courses over and over so I have not really relied on it. What I’ve seen so far is a very capable and detailed map. The graphics are a vector map meaning when you zoom in the images stay sharp, they don’t pixilate. There seem to be a lot of landmarks also which is super helpful. It seems pretty accurate and capable. I saw many positive reviews that convinced me to spend a few bucks on this awesome app. I would buy it again! Run, bike or even walk swim ski HIIT to get the app! ? Update. I was away from home and needed a course to run but didn’t want to bring my phone. I used MapMyRun to create a course, expected the GPX file and imported it into this app. It worked great. It draws the course on the map which is easy to follow. It was great. It doesn’t beep or vibrate when you’re off course but that’s not a problem. I intentionally went off course and used it to find my way back. Super easy to use. The more I use the app, the more I love it.

This app makes all others look puny

I use Strava all the time to track my fitness data, but their watch app is just so lackluster. I also wanted a GPS app. This app has everything I need: - Offline maps! - Tabata workout timer?! - Automatic export to Strava!!!

The workout app the Apple Watch should come with

Knightslk

This app is super configurable. It shows you just how much data is actually there that you don’t see in the native Apple workout app. Basically if you’re anything more than a casual exerciser you should get this app. Well worth the money, especially considering their excellent privacy policy which is short, to the point, and makes it clear your data is yours.

Crashes!

Hugoniot

I love this app. But it crashes often during a run and I lose data and don’t record the run. It is too bad that it is unstable, because otherwise it is great.

Swiss Army Knife of AW exercise apps

I NEVER write reviews, but I had to rain accolades on this app. From the insane level of customizations, to the vector maps, to the ability to import gpx maps... This thing is pure gold.

Awesome, excellent customer service

After six months I’m still discovering more features. Wow. Over the weekend I emailed the developer about something I found confusing. and received the answer within hours.

Finally found the best...

HelloitsDerek

I have tried many running apps and there is always something missing or I feel like “I wish it did this or that” etc. The WorkOutDoors app is the first time a running app has 100% what I need. My search has ended here, and I’m super happy.... thanks!!!!

Most sophisticated iOS app and Apple Watch app available for running and more.

Findmory

If you are a stats geek or want to follow specific training or workout plans this is the app for you. I have tried every Running app that has an Apple Watch companion and nothing even comes close to this. The ability to customize every screen you see, the ability to customize every interval you run (I use it for running but it has modes for every type of activity you can imagine from skiing to horseback riding to yoga...), the ability to have haptics and spoken alerts and screen messages when you are off pace... it’s really endlessly configurable and just incredibly well done. Thanks much guys for all the hard work that went into this!
