Paid for the app. Went for 2 runs. Can see first one with stats in the “workout history”, but on the phone only. Empty “workout history” on the watch. Second run data just vanished from the app. However, I can see both runs saved in Apple’s default “Fitness” app.

This is the best app for setting custom intervals with a variety of interval specific targets. The developer responded to a question within minutes and quickly helped me resolve a user error issue. Great product and quality customer service.

Inconsistent at best, but great when it does work. Hasn’t been updated since I bought it - abandonware?

great app, the only problem I have with it is when I export the workout (always kayaking) to strava, it is named paddle but imports as either running or biking (every single time)

If you are a Garmin convert to Apple Watch, this is a must have app. Data junkies will love it. Tons of options for customizing screens for each activity and splits. Great voice feedback on splits and intervals. The ability to create Interval schedules is awesome for importing your training program onto your watch. Just start the Interval schedule and it guides you through your run and tells you how much left in each segment and whether or not you are on your target pace.

By far the most useful tool on my Apple Watch, with the possible exception of phone service. It’s ridiculous how much useful information this thing collects and how usable the (automatically uploaded) touchscreen-interactive iPhone workout screens are (trace pace, elevation, HR graphs and see where along your hike/run you were for any data point). Best non-Apple app I have. Gets used almost daily; can’t think of any way to improve it.

Mandatory for Apple Watch and iPhone users. Verbal and haptic notifications, fully customizable screens, records accurately, automatic sync with Strava, no subscription. This app has many glowing YouTube reviews, and I’m glad I bought it. I use it every day for running instead of using Strava to record workouts directly, or the lousy Apple native fitness app. Frankly, I think this app would sell insanely if it was named something other than WorkOutDoors, which sounds like an employment job app. I recommend this app to my friends and running club.

Haven’t been able to import GPX maps and trails even following the instructions to import through share and then choosing the app. I tried saving a map and tiles to my watch and it freezes and even though it says done, the maps do not show up. I paid for the full version and I can’t use it anyways.

I really like everything about this app except for its HR accuracy. There are many periods within an activity where the HR intermittently gets “stuck.” While I knew this intuitively, I verified this with also wearing my garmin watch and chest strap. There were definitely periods where the WorkOutDoors HR was seriously behind or stuck. You would think WorkOutDoors simply mirrors the HR from the Apple Watch sensor but it doesn’t. I found this out by accident by reviewing logged activities in the HeartWatch app. I was getting duplicate entries for activities: one from Apple Watch and one from WorkOutDoors. The HR data differed, with the Apple Watch HR data being accurate. If you are highly interested in zone training (e.g. staying in zone 2) I would wait for WorkOutDoors to fix this bug. On that note, after googling, others are having this issue as well. For this I must give 3 stars. WorkOutDoors, please fix!

The app has the key features for running training, intervals and configurable displays. I was a Garmin user, switched to iPhone for its LTE capability. But iPhone’s exercise app and Strava app is quite rudimentary, and I would have switched back to Garmin if I have not found this app - WorkOutDoors is awesome.
