I think most of us just want to have confidence in when the train will arrive. Let us choose some basic settings (and not again each time) and put forecast arrival times not number of minutes late. Nothing like doing wasteful math on the 7th subpage to figure out if you will make the train. Truly a joke, please fix, but fix the train service first. Thanks.

App happily allowed me to set up an account and pay for a ticket. But when I tried to use the ticket, the app says it is locked and none of the controls do any thing. Better off just buying tickets at the station. You end up doing that anyway.

I love how convenient this app is, but the UI is dated and it’s rather slow. The app needs to be updated to take advantage of the larger screen sizes and enhanced security features of the new iPhones. The train tracker could use a little love as well.
A bad dieter
I use the VRE app instead of paper tickets and works fine for me for its ticket function. And I like not having to worry about a paper ticket. My main complaint is that the app doesn’t have the actual times for train schedules (just a countdown in minutes to when the train is scheduled to arrive at each stop) or real time status (have to link through the website). It would be great to have push notifications when delays are occurring or for info on what’s happening when you’re on the train and there’s delays (instead of having to check Facebook and hope for info). Also had a lot of difficulty when updating card info.

This *could* be a great and necessary app, but when I go into my settings and turn on the cellular data for the app, it simply won’t stay on, which makes it impossible to view the train status. Is this a VRE app malfunction, or an iPhone glitch?

As far as apps go, the app is fine. Finicky as all get out when it comes to payment.

For the past couple of years I’ve used the app, it used to land you to My Tickets screen. After a recent update it instead takes you to Buy Tickets screen for some strange reason. The app should check if a user already has tickets and should take them to Buy Tickets only if they don’t already have any tickets.

I don’t understand the bad reviews. The app is perfect for me and does all that I need it to do. No issues and no complaints here!

Neither this app nor the mobile website will take my credit card info. The transaction fails every time and no one seems to be able to figure out why. The app defaults to buy tickets, when it should default to my tickets. I have to validate and show my ticket twice a day but i only buy tickets occasionally. Very limited functionality. It does eliminate the need for paper tickets and that’s about all it’s good for.
