App constantly crashing and chrome cast feature broken.

helloiamabigbrowncat

I enjoy the desktop experience of Udemy, but this app for iPhone really could use some work. The videos randomly stop playing, the app crashes all the time, and the chrome cast feature is unusable. It’s really disappointing because the potential is there but I feel like the developers are neglecting glaring problems.

No more Apple TV App

This previously was the service I would recommend to all of my friends. You’ve effectively killed off the Apple TV app, which effectively killed my use case to have the presentation on my TV while I worked off of my computer. One star.

Great content, but…

The app on both Apple and Android are awful. The app refuses to allow login with an active VPN, even with the VPN set to a US node, and will logout if I activate the VPN after login. Udemy’s response? “Don’t use a VPN”. Sorry, that’s unacceptable in today’s privacy world. It is worth noting that the website likes VPNs just fine and the content is great!

It’s blanked

I just get a white screen

The mobile app has always been problematic, and now it’s just a white screen that sends me notifications about sales.

App takes money, but doesn’t enroll

Fan of the Piece

It’s been really frustrating going through the refund process since the app took my money, but didn’t enroll me in the course. I tried again later with the same result. Udemy has a whole page dedicated to this issue and customer support just told me to ask Apple. If you’re going to accept purchases on the app, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect the purchase to work.

Great app. Not working.

After a recent update, I tried to launch the Udemy app on my iPad and iPhone. Nothing but a white screen. Sadness.

No longer available for older iPads

Forces you to update before you can ‘continue to learn’. But they now require iOS 13 in order to update the app. Users who have old iPads that do not support iOS 13 have now been left behind. This is sad since there should be an older version to use to ‘continue learning’.

Getting kicked out of instructor view

abcdefggfedcba

The app keeps sending me to the discover page and I have to click like 5 times to get back to my instructor view.

Every other video playback attempt says unavailable no internet connection.

I don't understand how this is an ongoing issue... I've been using this app for well over a year and every few lessons, I get a, "Sorry we cannot load the lecture. Make sure you have internet connection or offline content." I have uninstalled, and reinstalled, I have closed out of the app, terminated it as a task, even turned off wifi and placed my iPad on airplane mode and I still get this issue. So my recommendation is that the Udemy developers take a Swift course or maybe a developer's Boot Camp... through Udemy. Seriously, people pay hundreds of dollars for top quality content only to be disrupted every few lessons with this issue. There are other features I'd love to have implemented that would make it better, but no other features should be implemented until this is fixed.
